A friend of mine has been on quite a few Saga cruises and he’s more than happy with them.

My holidays are always a saga; Hat Yai last week, Tescos tomorrow, Penang on Wednesday.

Where would you like to go?

Yes been on several, we like them. Probably been on more Saga cruises than land based Saga holidays, Saga cruises are our favourite.
Always get well looked after.
We haven’t got round to a Saga holiday this year, might have done if there was availability for Mauritius this year. Went on Cape Verdi package instead.
We have a Saga cruise booked for end Sept next year.

Thanks

Many thanks for the replys. I have been on several trips with Saga. Mostly travelled with them since 1997. I have been to a lot of countries but I am still interested in folk that have been on a trip & enjoyed it so much that they would recommend. So far I have enjoyed all my Saga trips. Haven’t been on a cruise just because I live by the sea & travel by boat to the mainland a lot. Have seen the Saga boats when they are in port. I do get seasick very easily so when I travel I just lie down. Would not want to spend a hol doing this!

If I had I wouldn’t admit it! Aren’t they for …old people?

Saga holidays are for the over 50’s - as is this site lol

Good for you Valice! I am happy to be well over 50 better to be that than to have ended up like Diana, Elvis or Marlyn or even Amy! Sadly they never saw 50 for one reason or another.

A whole boat full of Baby boomers? !

Just like you Twizard

I have earned every wrinkle & every ache & pain. Still able to travel & that’s what it’s all about! Being alive, like the Bee Gees when they were all around.

Exactly, abandon ship!!! I’m a “late boomer” apparently!

Aaahhhh, there, there Twiz darlin’ (pats top of head gently):lol::lol::lol:

Thanks Joe! I’m only jealous cos I can’t afford a holiday, but don’t tell anyone!

I remember getting their brochures before we were 50, and longing to be old enough to go on one

IF I could afford one I’d go see the Northern Lights, experience of a lifetime I imagine!

SAGA = Sex And Games for the Aged :lol:

Sorry  couldn’t resist but please let me know if it’s true !!!

Naughty, I don’t know about the first, certainly some people find companionship on board cruises, and it is a good place for singles as Saga do make a special effort to make them feel included.

I prefer Sunshine and Games for the Able.

Quoits, Shuffleboard, Bridge, Quizzes, Carpet bowls, and other sundry games, dance lessons ballroom and line dancing, plenty to do, we enjoy our days at sea.

Having been on at least one Saga hol if not two in a yr since 1997 sadly I have not seen one holiday romance bloom. I consider myself to be fairly observant so don’t miss much. I have met a lot of very lovely & interesting people on these hols mostly women who are not looking for romance just happy to be on holiday & relaxing with other like minded folk. When I say that I’m going on a Saga hol the quotation above re; Sex & Games for the Aged is the 1 st to be quoted to me, it does not put me off. I have holiday’d with other companies too & have sadly found that the younger than 50’s are too boisterous. Old age & all that is my issue. I feel so very safe travelling with Saga. Have never felt under threat & have travelled to a lot of countries. Thought that some of the new Saga hols may have been tried & tested by some on this site. I’m off to St Lucia again later in the year…for the sun & just to be looked after by the… Hotel Staff! Lovely folk.

I notice they advertise St Lucia a lot, was put off that island on my first Caribbean cruise there, decided to walk around Castrees in a 3 some, and got nothing but hassle from the locals, even badgering us to take a taxi back to the ship, we were so close we could see the ship!!
On another Caribbean cruise we again visited St Lucia, this time elected to go on an escorted trip with a cable ride in the rain forest, and yes it did rain.
One Caribbean cruise took us to St Kitts, here we were left in peace and I would like to go back there again, not always on a Caribbean cruise itinerary though.
Not sure I’ve actually noticed any romances blossom on board, but have met some couples who had previously met on a cruise and got married, so it must happen.
