There are shortages, sites were closed because of a delivery driver shortage.
It is a simple as that.
We need HGV Drivers, Government have known this for months bur did naff all.
We are not managing Covid or Brexit well, we should not be in this position.
Other Countries are managing much better and suffering less.

Strange how petrol and diesel are at an all time high and rumours have started a panic…Also high gas prices and people being moved to more expensive tariffs? How much tax do we pay on energy again?.. 
I suppose Boris has got to recover furlough expenses…
Shortages of drivers, NOT of fuel.
According to Fridays’ BBC national evening TV news 100 garages were closed.
Yes, just 100.
Out of 8,300 they said.
Any shortages happening now are being brought about by the greed and stupidity of drivers rushing to buy what they do not need.
“We” don’t but companies using HGV drivers do.
They are the ones that should have been doing something about it, not the government because the government doesn’t usually employ HGV drivers so why should the government have been doing anything?
And why has the rest of the world got similar problems?
There are HGV driver shortages across Europe and even in the USA.
I suppose that is the fault of the British government or of Brexit too.

I’m managing both Covid and Brexit perfectly well thank you very much and the position that I and many other people are in is just fine, or did nobody ever have problems of any sort before either Brexit or Covid?
The strikes, power cuts and short working weeks of the 1970’s were all just a dream were they?
They put the idiocy of people rushing to buy what they don’t need into perspective, but at least it’s not loo rolls this time.
Yet.
Other countries aren’t managing very well and are suffering far more too, but that’s life for you.
Poland is 125,000 HGV drivers short; has throngs of migrants trying to get over their border fences; despite already having the highest electricity prices in Europe has seen three price hikes already this year with consumers already paying over 20% more so far this year & they rely upon Russian gas; and there’s much more besides.
Much of Europe is in the same situation, except that their citizens don’t look to be as lemming-like with their selfish greed.
This time and so far, of course.
