They set an example by publicly shielding early on as they were both at risk. Didn’t the Queen send a special message? The Queen knighed Captain Tom last summer which must have meant a great deal to him.
I think they have relaxed the rules if someone is dying in recent months because captain Toms family was allowed to see him.in hospital.
Being in the public eye as they are is not easy. I guess they all find different ways to cope with it. There is no real freedom. Of course it has it’s bonuses like having Trump over for a visit…
