I had to google that one LongDriver…That describes perfectly the members of the present incumbents…Shrewd and unprincipled…

I would have been very happy with £275 when all I’ve been winning is £25 for months.

This month was a welcome change, with 6 prizes, totalling £475 - perhaps your usual Good Luck is being spread around this month, to those of us who have been patiently waiting for their Luck to turn! :joy:

I think you may have inadvertently received my share this month boot…

I do seem to have received somebody else’s share, Foxy - it is most puzzling - in addition to the £475 I had already won in Dec draw, I received an unexpected letter today about the September draw.

I wonder if anyone else on here has received a letter like this?

When I first read it, I thought they were telling me that I had only won £25 but I had been given £50, so they were going to take £25 back - but when I read the rest of the letter, it seems they were going to pay me an extra £25 because some other “winner” wasn’t eligible to receive it - I’m not clear as to why the original winner wasn’t eligible for it or why they decided to give their prize to me - but I have checked my bank account and they credited me with £25 in September for the Bond Number quoted in the letter and then credited me with another £25 for that Bond a few days ago - in addition to the £475 I won on other Bond numbers this month - so December has been a Bumper £500 winner for me! :+1:

My grandchildren have already been given £400 of my December winnings and £50 of it was shared between buying a bit of Christmas stuff for the local food bank and a donation to a local community centre for the elderly, who offer a free homemade hot soup lunch and a warm place for folk to congregate and socialise during the day, they do jigsaws, play games, do arty crafty stuff etc - so the share of my December winnings was £25 for myself and it has just doubled to £50 - Yea ! … :joy:
I may just spend this unexpected windfall on a Christmas present for myself … :mrs_claus:t3::christmas_tree:

That’s great news Boot, I hope you have gone onto the NS&I site to make sure it’s legit…I’m sure you have… :+1:
Food banks and local community are very deserving causes and ones I would probably donate to, however…
I won a measly £25  in Decembers draw, but I always reinvest into more bonds.
Only joking about the frowning face, I’m grateful for any win and these days we need all the help we can get. I always said if I won a decent amount it would go to my daughter, the last time I came into some money I bought her a new car, I know how hard it is for young people (she’s 51) to run a motor and she used to drive my two grand daughters around in an old banger. They’ve both passed their driving test now and are more independent…

£25 is the amount I usually win in most months, Foxy - this month’s bumper win seems like a “fairy godmother” Christmas present!

My unusual good luck in December seems to have continued into the New Year - 4 prizes totalling £300 for me this month.

I must be pleasing the gods of luck in some way!:joy:

I don’t have any Premium Bonds but reading these comments makes me think I should buy some.
Could I ask if you all have the full quota to keep winning so regularly?

I have the max as does my wife. Both of us have seen some very decent returns since 1988. Thats how we swiftly grew our pots to max out. Now the monthly returns keep our gas heating at the almost tropical setting of 26C in day and bath rooms and 18c in bedrooms. The overspill pays the leccie👍which leaves our pensions to spend at will; but we are still annoyed at the loss of the WFA as that went to the local hospice.

I started off with 20 grands worth of premium bonds back in 2017 Helen. They were so successful with wins most months I added another ten grand in 2023 and in 2024 my winnings were £800 for that year alone. In 2023 I had one win of £1000 but usually they are £25 or multiples of that. Unfortunately 2025 hasn’t started off so well with no wins in January or February but I live in hopes for the coming months, and at the end of the day, your initial deposit and accumulation (if you elect to buy more bonds with your winnings) is safe and can be withdrawn at any time. I leave mine in to buy more bonds. Much better than any lottery in my opinion.
