Premium Bonds - have you won anything?

Crap! Nowt for me but V has won 50 squid.

I only won 1 prize this month but instead of the usual £25, it was £100 -
WooHoo!
I’ve had Premium Bonds for many years and I don’t think I’ve won a £100 prize before - they are usually £25.

I treated my sis to lunch today to celebrate! :champagne: :clinking_glasses:

£500 in April’s draw and £100 in May’s lot. Mrs LD received £50 in April and she got another £50 for May :+1:

Gosh you are lucky !

Not exceptionally so as both of us are max holders. Over the years our max investments have performed much better than any stocks etc :ok_hand::+1:

Your April win is 5X better than I’ve ever done, LD :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

The greater your holding, the greater will be your returns. I hold the maximum allowed to be invested and so does Mrs LD; we are very happy with our tax-free investment returns :ok_hand:

You are still lucky lots of people do have the max holdings and aren’t

Then I expect they leave their holding in too long with the same numbers. Change annually and you’ll be surprised how the odds change :+1:
Straight after a big win, it also makes sense to change the whole lot of investment numbers.

I didn’t know you could do that…What do you do, do you ditch the old ones and buy new ones with the proceeds?

V and I aren’t maxed out, yet! We’re close though and we’re happy with our usual £25 - £50/month returns too.

Really? How does that work? We cashed in when we bought this bungalow and then bought more to replace them once we had sold our apartment in Worcester.

Fill the forms in then NS&I does the rest; you even keep your original ref number.

NS&I has increased the prize pot for Premium Bonds starting with next month’s draw. The prize fund will be the equivalent of 1.4% interest rate. This means an extra 1.4M prizes will be drawn from now on so, the odds of winning a prize is down from 1:34,500 to 1:24,500.
