Maybe not in the purest of terms but that £1 bond has had a chance of winning many times more than its face value every month since it was bought. You can only spend it once though.

I’ve just seen that NS&I has performed a U-turn regarding its decision to get everyone to move away from having their winning paid by cheque/warrant:

Mine gets paid into my bank now anyway, if I ever win any. Mainly because getting cheques is a no no, as we have no branch of my bank within several miles, in their wisdom they have closed them all down.:frowning:

I have also have mine if and when paid into the bank. Much better idea than having to Q to pay in. Also get an email if I have won. But you already know this.
