Rottnest Island, Perth Western Australia.
The River Trent with Nottingham Forest Ground in the back ground ,Im sure the boat is a floating restaurant , that is hired out or serves meals at certain times of the year .
This is Trent Bridge built in 1871 , replacing a much small one , the river as widened a great deal in its time .
in the right hand corner is a tall large Spot lights which is over Nottingham Cricket Ground , many matches played out on TV .
The River Trent flows through the Village I live in.Its nice to walk down by the river in Summer .Cattle go down to drink from it and on rare occasions they get swept up river and have to be rescued by the Fire Department .
People come down on Their Cruisers
many years ago there use to be a man that would bring you from one side to the other on a small rowing boat , when my husband was a small child he said he came from town on the little boat to do some nesting .
on the next photo the white building in the far right is a public House , and summer time its full of townies come out of town
The island is Hoy, the nearest of the Orkney Isles. Pic taken from the Surfing Reef at Thurso on the Mainland.
The Isle of Wight is just off the coast to my SW and can usually be seen at the end of a leisurely stroll in the right direction from my front door.
Another Isle Of Wight photo. The closest island to the Surrey/Hants border area…
What is that in the centre?
PS: Lovely pics @all
Reminiscent of St Michael’s Mount.
Thanks, Rox. I just saw white crests. Must be hardy souls who enjoy surfing in these conditions.
The waves here can be massive, we have a Surf School here, I enjoy watching the kids out with the instructors on a Saturday Morning. Also we hold the Cold Water Surfing Championships every March/April (usually) They come from all over the World to compete.
Thanks for sharing. A wonderful promo.
