No definite Autumn plans, I tend to take each day as it comes but it’s my birthday next week and I will be having a special meal with my daughter and a couple of very dear friends, so I’m looking forward to that

I’ve just been reading up on this, brings back memories of 1987, the great storm. I was in Hyde Park first thing, to pick up my fishing permit from the superintendent’s lodge I think. Massive uprooted trees, one of them was lying on the steps leading down to The Park Lane Subway!
Yes that building is known as The Old Police House, formerly Hyde Park Police Station. There is a Superintendents Lodge nearby (?).

I decorate for Autumn every year. I’m not much of a Halloween person, to me it’s pagan and that’s not allowed in my home. So I only decorate using traditional Autumn decor. Such as leaves, pumpkins, candles, and an Autumn wreath. It always looks beautiful with some scented candles.
This year I will probably go apple picking with my family. It’s a tradition. We travel to Smithfield, Rhode Island to an apple orchard. We pick the best looking ones, and put them in sacks. We take them home and use them to make desserts.

They taste so much better when freshly picked don’t they? A word apart from the apples that have been languishing in storage and then on the shelves in shops, no comparison! Years ago we’d go foraging for wild chestnuts in October, delicious when roasted on a small shovel over an open fire.

For some reason I cannot explain, and as far back as I remember, I have picked up a handful of conkers each autumn and put them on display in my home ….no idea why or when I started

For the Autumn time as it develops into winter, my Sitar will be helping my disabled wife cope with her debilitating pain, and as a guide, this will give an idea of what I play to her with accompaniment on the digital Genos.
