gum, all my distant cuzzies owe me a fortune in free beer, transportation and introductions so, it must be a case of mistaken identity, and, just for the record, don’t do learnin, spent a life with an Hell Plate on mi back.
Well, what a turn up for the books, the last quote I got from China for a 72V, 50AH battery for the Black Bomber was £1400.00 plus £325.00 shipping (ok that was Air Mail). Just been back on Alibaba and got the battery and shipping for £685.50, that is some saving.
I feel a bit guilty about talking about the procurement of the new battery, the deal being done today. I know the side issue is all about selling out, but, this is not the right thread to address this, this thread is all about simplicity.
Didn’t need the washer pump, took the under bonnet sound deadener of and the fluid pipe had become detached from the washer jet so, it’s MOT time this week, fingers crossed.
MOT tomorrow, lets get legal
Right, I sold the Sur Ron in August last year and it was logical to cancel the insurance which was on direct debit at £19.23 per month, I was told by the insurance company that the cancellation charge was a ball park £100.00 so I said it was logical to keep the D/D in place till this was paid off so, they said they would create a ghost policy that was not applicable to any vehicle which, I could re-instate if I bought another Bike. I just went on the puter to update my banking Spreadsheet and there the payment was still so, I looked back on banking and have paid seven payments of £19.23 (£134.61 total) since the bike was sold so, I am going to phone them today to put a stop to this. I bet the conversation goes like this “the policy is still live until May… so you can cancel but it will cost you £51.35” you couldn’t make this stuff up could you!!!
Just spoke to the insurance and the payment today was payment nine of nine, so, no more payments irrespective. It was a good conversation though because, the policy remains in force until the 24th of June at which point there will be two years no claims on it and, if I decide to road legalize the Black Bomber, they will quote on specialist bikes so best to let the policy see it’s term out.
Still waiting on the Battery from china to arrive so mw attention has turned to the brakes, the massive 12kw hub wheel came equipped with a disc rotor, but, it is heavier duty and a different fitting system to the mountain bike set ups these traditionally use, the dis itself is 3mm thick, and standard MTB discs are 2mm so the caliper ahs to have a wider opening between the pads to fit, research has told me there is only one option that has this characteristic and that is the “Hope V4”
