Planes Bikes and Automobiles

Thanks DM, there is a lot of scenery to appreciate.

The Sur ron Type 100amp breaker has been installed, sent an Email to China about the charger that is stuck in Belgium , this is not good enough, going to buy another one from Hastings, then get refund, summer will be gone by the time it arrives.

Oops I did it again, just bought a 1500 Watt rear wheel for the Saracen, had enough of local good and bad interest in the Sur ron. Time for silent riding enjoyment again, locally. Save the beasts for uninhabited rides, arrived at in the van.

Does that mean you have received some opposition from the local
populace Spitty ??
If so what are they moaning about ??
BTW, Is that kill switch fitted with an actual fuse or with
thermal overload ??
Looks like a thermal overload to me ?
Have you wheelied yet?!

Donkeyman!

Nothing tangible DM, just the looks on folks faces, one guy tried to ask a question, but the wind noise blurted it out, I donā€™t like being disrespectful to genuine folks so Doorstep Sur ronig has to stop, there are just too many considerations. The Kill Switch is rated at 100 amps, the controller 150 amps with various inbuilt protections so, all should be be good.
A wheelie is on the cards but, an age considerate one, canā€™t afford to break anything, equipment or self.

Here is the Saracen, awaiting its electrification.

Bomber Battery Charger has emerged from Belgium, thought it would never make it, now the serious stuff can begin.

Sound man Spitty, fair play to yeh, you know yer onions.

As he leaves his abode to conquer the road
He waves to his patient fair lady
With leg over saddle, heā€™s on a skedaddle
Delighted with his new baby. ;-)

Spitty Spitty donā€™t be slow, be like Elvis and go man go!

An Asset creator
Cash deliberator
For ever forsaker
None player taker.:lol::lol:

If only it were that simple.

Ok, Its arrived, 1500 watts this time (the other one was 1000), to put in in context, the Saracen weighs about 15 Kgs, and will run a 48V power source, the Sur ron is about 48 Kgs, and runs at 6000 Watts with a 60v power supply and the Bomber is about 75 Kgs runs 8000 Watts with a 72V power supply, it will be interesting to compare the power to weight ratio of all three.

If they donā€™t come up to expectations Spitty you can always open
a bike shop ??

 Donkeyman!

Do you mean an Ebike Shop?

Knew it was just a question of time, and maybe, not before time.

You would think installing the rear hub wheel to the Saracen would be pretty straight forward but alas not so.

The first photo shows just how close the control cable is to the brake disc retaining screws which will be spinning with the wheel. The second photo shows the gear cassette fowling the frame so need to acquire a correct size spacer that will not stretch the frame too much.

Buying a Sur ron is proving problematic, it has developed a fault, the supplier (that is 125 miles away) said take it to my nearest dealer for a warranty fix, the nearest one is Nottingham, sorry canā€™t help you was their response, we have had no technical info from Sur ron, so are in the dark on service. Next nearest is Corby, same story and, because the supply chain has dried up, they have never had a machine to actually sell, so it looks like Van Hire, 3 hour journey each way, and wait whilst its fixed.

Sell them your one Spitty !!

Donā€™t forget to charge for labour !!
Whatā€™s the problem though ??

Donkeyman!

Its dangerous DM, at constant throttle, the power dies then, it takes off again, with much gusto, in traffic its a nightmare.

Hello Bike and Plane Place, we will navigate this place, no probs

Went GoProing today on the Saracen conversion, doing a range test on it, as the screen shows, before
todays ride, it has done 17 miles and still has 80% battery capacity in it. Going to do the big Brum Ride later in the week.
