Have just been up to Church to do my graves - we have a wedding there today. The whole Churchyard is full of bluebells, so pretty, and the florist has put up an arch over the gates. Should be lovely - hope the rain holds off. I haven’t put my washing out, just in case.
Had a nasty thing happen in the village this week. One or two farmers nearby have diversified into chickens - big sheds but the chucks are allowed out as well. There is a small garden shed next to the village hall where one of the farmers sells his eggs - with an honesty box for the money. This has been going for some time with no problem at all and suddenly this week some lowlife has pinched the honesty box! Seems almost unbelievable - and I don’t suppose there was more than £20/30 in it!
Sunshine and showers today.
Still on the hunt for climbing roses-went to The Range this morning,no luck didn’t even have bush roses there.
The sweet shop in the village celebrates being open for a hundred years today. It was opened by an Italian man and now his daughter’s running it and has been for several years. The outside has been decorated with gold balloons and banners in the windows with 100 printed on them-lovely sight.

Karen called yesterday and brought me painkillers and Voltarol Gel off one of her ladies who have their hair done by her . She gets them on scirt but I pay for mine !!

Some sun and heavy showers here.
Laura called yesterday and gave my shower room and balcony a good clean and Karen called and gave me some painkillers and Votarol gel off one of her ladies who have their hair done so I.m ok for a while . She gets them on script but doesnt use them much and I have been paying for mine

Karen had set off to Liverpool to see grandson who has been poorly but car broke down so had to come back . She went to work yesterday and fell down the steep stairs and boke her arm . Laura said it looked like she would need an op. I.m afraid to ring too early in case they are catching up with sleep
,Keep safe xx
Hooray-had a dry walk this morning.Have risked putting a throw out on the line, will keep a look out for the rain.
Sorry things are not going well with your family at the moment Jac-hope things improve soon.
Keep safe.
Lovely sunny morning and washing on the line blowing beautifully. Made some soup for lunch as I’m going out to dinner with friends tonight. Yippee! Have also done a casserole for tomorrow so think I might do some cobweb chasing in a minute.
Church yesterday, then made some sausage rolls and took them to the farm. Had a good chat with my DIL who was actually sitting down in the living room (most unusual) waiting for two new pigs to be delivered.I would have gone to watch when they arrived but the heavens opened and I’d left my car windows open - ugh!
Karens arm wasn,t broken but they did 2 xrays to make sure because they really thought it was . She put her PJ’s on and sat on the settee and sat on a Bee who promptly stung her on her nether region . Poor girl
Funny old day , thought it was going to rain so put my washing indoors and now it looks fine . Leaving it though, forecast isnt good
Think we must be in the monsoon season. Went to Hay to collect my meds and was going to take some stuff up to a friend who lives in the wilds. Halfway home the heavens opened, to I went home and drank coffee instead. Have managed to take the parcel now though, roads are running with water.
Had to laugh at Karen’s predicament Jac - sorry!
Thoroughly enjoyed my evening out yesterday, someone else’s cooking is always delicious isn’t it?
Wet and windy this morning-weather wise, not personal!
Didn’t fancy driving on the motorway(only got a small car)so have postponed taking my friend for lunch until Saturday.
My little g.granddaughter has had a couple of episodes of being sick and complaining of headaches last few days so after speaking to her neurosurgeon granddaughter is taking her to The Heath this morning. It might be a case of moving the shut to another part of the brain to try and stop it blocking so often. Will be on pins today to hear the news.
The wind is blasting here and we have a very tall, skinny fir tree in garden and its nearly bending in half.
I just went on balcony to rescue a chair and my loose Kaftan i was wearing blew up around my neck so I was standing there stark naked , glad no-one was around (i hope) lol
Be safe xxx. Hope g-granddaughter is doing ok xxx
Rough night here and not much point brushing my hair before I went out this morning. Collected Rob’s meds - the kind pharmacist carried all out to the car for me - and put some fuel in the car, back home by 10.30 am. Potato baking in the oven and I’m thinking about removing some dust from my bedroom - only thinking about it!
Better day today after the horrendous day yesterday.
G.granddaughter had tests in hospital but they didn’t operate, she’s got another review in 3 weeks. They came here yesterday and she was her usual cheeky self.
Looking forward to lunch today, haven’t been out for a meal for months.
Keep safe.
Nice sunny one today but I can hardly see out of my window after the storm .Think more rain is due though so leaving them
Did you see those lads rioting in Mayhill on the news . Hope they get and charge them . Its lucky no-one was killed
Keep safe xxx
I was horrified to see Mayhill on the news - for such a horrible reason. How can a “vigil” for a young man turn into a riot?
Rob’s liquid “food” is delivered once every 28 days and comprises a good number of heavy boxes. I have requested that they be delivered to the patio doors at the rear of the property and have been assured that they will be. I can only assume the drivers for DPD can’t read. Last night, as I was locking the side door, glanced outside and discovered that yet again the delivery was dumped at the side door. Perhaps I’m wrong to complain, but to expect an 81 year old to have to ferry all that through the house is a bit much! Rant over.
Thank goodness the weather has improved today, have another neighbour’s funeral which entails standing out in the village. So sad.
Glad your granddaughter seeems OK for the moment Rhosyn.
Back to rain today.
Enjoyed my lunch yesterday.Strange having to give your name and telephone number when entering the restaurant.
Son no2 had his second vaccine yesterday. No side effects this time, not like after his first one.
Went over to see youngest son this morning, bearing sausage rolls and expecting coffee. He’s remodelling the ground floor of the house (having added an upstairs to the original bungalow). It’s amazing how much he’s done - will be lovely when it’s finished. He says he’s willing to redo my kitchen for me, but I’m not holding my breath…
Funny old day ,some sunshine but then the showers.
I just saw a funny thing . I get regular visits from seagulls who sit on my balcony rail and wait for food . I noticed one sat there for ages and when i really looked he was balanced on one leg and his head turned right around and had his beak buried in his wings at the back ??
Take care xxx
Nice to see a bit of sunshine this morning.
Had a hair cut this morning then went shopping for goodies for the g.grandchildren tomorrow.
Have a speed awareness course on line tomorrow morning at 11.15.Don’t know what to expect, probably will not have much sleep tonight-worrying.
Stay safe.
