Over 50's Wales Club

Went to Church this morning - so nice to see different walls and friendly faces, even if they are half covered with masks. Churchwarden asked me to read the first lesson so had to take my mask off five minutes beforehand and clean my glasses!

Have put out the dustbins and recycling boxes ready for tomorrow and I’m now looking forward to watching the snooker in the warm.

Jac-can recommend “Queen’s Gambit” on Netflix. It’s nothing to do with royalty but the game of chess.Even if you don’t understand the game of chess it’s good.

Will take a look Rhosyn ,thanks . I did start looking at Bridgerton (think thats what its called ) Its ok
Trying hard to rain here and another lazy day for me .The news is so depressing ,will it ever end ?

Drizzly here.
My car was booked in for service and m.o.t this morning but the garage was all closed up.No answer when I phoned,so don’t know what’s happened.Booked it in to another garage on Thursday.
Stay safe.

Youngest grandson is here doing schoolwork on his laptop. At least he was, think he may be on Minecraft by now.

Managed to get my vaccine appt. this morning for next Monday evening. (That was when my car was booked in for service and MOT, so have just rung and changed that!) Was that your regular garage Rhosyn? Strange it should be closed when you had booked your car in.

See the rain has started here so may be glued to the snooker again…

Went Tesco shopping early this morning-the highlight of the week!
Car now booked in on Thursday.Still no answer from the garage where it was booked in yesterday. So don’t know what’s happened.
Sue-are you having your vaccine in your local surgery or in a specific venue?
Keep safe.

Having the vaccine at the local “cottage” hospital at Bronllys. It’s the Pfizer vaccine and I presume they are using that because there would be a deep freezer there. There is also a vaccination centre at the Royal Welsh Showground where I think they might use the Oxord vaccine (no freezer there). I was told in my invitation letter that I would be going to Bronllys but the first thing the gentleman asked me when I rang was whether I was able to get there. There must be quite a few over 80’s who wouldn’t be able to get there and possibly queue outside!

Jac I have just started reading the first Bridgerton book, but I gather the video is very saucy. A (younger) friend posted her dismay at how much sex is in it (she was watching with her daughters).

Another rainy one here and not many on the beach
I’m still watching Bridgerton and hadnt really noticed too much sexy scenes . LOL. I was surprised that there were lots of actors of colour playing the ladies and gents ,even the queen .
Tesco came last night so ok for a while
My great grandson has got an interview for a job in a garage paint spraying cars so hope it works out for him
Take care xxx

DIL came over to cut Rob’s hair and for the first time wore a mask while she was in here. She has heard that there is a case of Covid in the village. To close for comfort if it’s true.

Lazy day today, no grandson. No sheets to wash either - what a relief!

Rain again this morning.
Took car into garage by 8.30.No problem with this one being closed!Son came to pick me up and will take me to get it when it’s ready.Hope it won’t be too expensive if it needs work on it.
There were no cases of Covid in the Dulais Valley yesterday,so we must be doing something right.
Stay safe.

Nice to sit down with a cuppa. Have made curry for lunch and a pot of soup for tomorow.

Jac - Why on earth are there people of colour in Bridgerton? I’m wondering if I’m reading a completely different book, since so far there haven’t been any people of colour featuring in it - only the Duke of Hastings, Daphne Bridgerton and her family and some servants - none of which are coloured. Are you sure it isn’t the contrast on your TV which is out of sync?

Car passed the M.O.T yesterday after having new front tyres.
That’s another thing to cross off my to do list.Car insurance due on the 27th-January is an expensive month.I use the comparison sites for house and car insurances to get the best deal.Surprising the difference in prices between companies.
Keep safe.

lol Sue , no defo very dark people , The Duke is and his mother was and lots of others inc servants.I take my words back re the sex ,last one was almost porno . Daphne is played by Sally from Corries daughter.
Overcast here but no rain . Daughter is calling to sort out my recycling and to borrow an electric fire. Her boiler is on the blink

Reckon ?Netflix are playing the diversity card. No mention of people of colour in the book!

Very productive morning. Chris had a day off from school (inset day for teacher training) so we made loads of Welsh cakes. Had a big delivery of items for Rob so he came in very useful transporting it all out to the shed. No-one ever tells you how much room is needed for storage of medical items.

Enjoying the snooker.

Got a soaking on the walk this morning.
Nothing planned for today.Probably catch up on some tv.
Stay safe.

Was down at the local Co-op just after 8 am this morning, but can’t say I enjoyed the experience. Like a fool I took my glasses off so that they wouldn’t steam up and then had real difficulty finding things on the shelves. I always have trouble in that shop, their one-way system doesn’t seem to fit me and I always end up having to back-track or go all the way round again! Still, I didn’t want much and that got the job done.

Sue ,one of the characters made a mention that people were accepting them now the King had married one of them so ???
It was nice and sunny but now its clouding over . My bedding is out so i’ll have to keep an eye .
Karen called yesterday to set up a Firestick on Tv in bedroom so I can watch 24 hrs now lol

Sorry Jac - still don’t understand that scenario. Which King married a person of colour in this country?

Karen sounds like a techno whizz kid. Well done her.

Went to Church this morning and have just had bacon and egg for lunch. Now back to the snooker…

Little great granddaughter’s in the Heath hospital. She was complaing of a headache and was sick yesterday morning-a sign that her shunt had blocked. She had surgery at 6.30 this morning. She was back on the ward eating toast by 9.She’s such a brave 4yr old.She bounces back after each time she has the op.It was April 2019 when she had the last one, that’s the longest time the shunt has been without blocking.
Didn’t sleep much last night thinking about her and my granddaughter so I might have a sleep this afternoon.
Hope your vaccination goes well today-Sue.
Stay safe.
