Meeting friends for coffee later,don’t really feel like going out but will enjoy once I get there.

Granddaughter and g.granddaughter were here yesterday,the little one was none too happy,she cried a lot and took a long time too pacify her.Think she’s teething.Poor little girl.

Has been a glorious day and a busy one for me. We’re fund-raising for the Church this weekend. We have 15 wedding dresses on display dating from 1962 (mine) and up to the present day. Have had quite a few visitors today and tomorrow we have a concert by a ladies’ choir from a local cancer trust. Here’s hoping the weather holds for tomorrow - the wind’s come up now and it’s looking a bit grey out there. WHITE RABBITS TO ALL!!

Cant believe its July all ready
Hello! I just joined yesterday and wanted to say “Hi!” I live in the small city of La Porte,Texas which is outside of Houston. The one place close to me that most people would know of is The Nasa Space Center. Which is just a short ten minute drive up the road. It is also sunny here today…VERY HOT, temp reads 91 but with humidity it feels like a scorching 97. Hope you have a great day!

Been to U3A this morning (for the last time this term) where there was a lecture on “Kashmir via the Equator” Unfortunately the speaker was sitting down and reading from notes and I couldn’t hear 9/10ths of what she said! Still, the slides were good. Rosie and I went for lunch in the Garden Centre afterwards. She’s off to Italy on Saturday for a week, lucky dab.

Its been lovely here all day
I had n adventure last night . I looked out at about 7.30pm and could see really black smoke over the golf course . I phoned 999 and told them . The smoke got really bad and then just as I was going to bed I could see really massive fire and smoke which went out all over the sea. I was trying to think of what buildings were in the area . Anyway ,read the news on-line this am and it was the gorse on the cliff path between Langland and Caswell. The fire-men were there until 3 am and back again the check at 8am, It must have been some blaze and hard to put out . Don’t know how the firemen put it out because no access to water on the cliff. No -one hurt so that was good .Scary
I’ve found out the firemen put the blaze out by beating it , must have been a hard job .

I’ve started sorting out the drawers under my bed and found 5 old landline phones . Wonder if they can be recycled ?
