Bring back the plastic nmac and those little plast concertina type plastic rain hats. Last night leaving the hospital, pouring. I took some of the nurses plastic aprons, and wrapped them around me. Rain was horizontal and about half a mile walk to car, with howling wind.
Been out and about early this morning, now in for the rest of the day.
Got withdrawal symptoms-no rugby this weekend!
Wish you had taken a pic Celyn lol
Lashing down with really cold rain here so Iām in for the day again . Getting through my recordings of late night films at the rate of knots (whatever that means !!)
It was dark, wet and blowing a gale. Horizontal rain and carrying two bags. The main hospital entrance has been closed for months while they redevelop (and of course build on the car parks) It means you have to walk right around the outside of the building to get to car parks. Southampton is a huge hospital. I feel so sorry for people with children or those in wheelchairs, as the wind whistles around the corners.
Windy and heavy drizzle this morning.
Chicken and veg cooking in the slow cooker, enough in there for two days.
No plans today, will catch up with recorded tv.this afternoon.
Hope youāve dried out by now Celyn, what a trip. We went to play bowls (not very well) yesterday morning and the amount of water that had accumulated on the road by the time we came home was amazing. Filthy day, glad to be back in the warm watching an old āGt. British Bakeoffā on the TV. Doesnāt look much better out there this morning, but I havenāt got to go out, so ā¦
Just rescued a huge frog from my naughty cats. I hope it survives. My car is having a nervous breakdown, didnāt think I was going to get home last night. Breaking down on the M3 in the rain was not appealing. Good job itās going in Tuesday anyway. I want a new car but no time to look. Having a day off hospital today. Daughter coming and we are going to do some household jobs. I am always worried going up ladders when no one here, just in case. My fall back to is Escape to the Country. I have a stash to fill those odd moments when nothing on. The news this morning is all EU. Not in the mood for that.
Wet and misty here , not nice
Iām having another lazy one ,might watch The Voice that I recorded last night later , not all that keen on the programme
Keep safe on that ladder Celyn xx
Daughter and I decided, even though a new Turbo vacuum head coming from Miele, to see what was wrong with the present one. Took rather a long time, daughter had to dive to Halfords to get a set of star wrenches. Had a heap of bits, put it back together, then found we still had a major component left. Took it apart and reassembled. Didnāt work. Scream!!! So we were not to be beaten. Took it apart, found a few more bits that we didnāt realise could come apart. Reassembled. Perfect. Two self satisfied ladies.
I did one stupid thing, and knew it was stupid thatās the point. While daughter out I poured down the sink a full tin of powdered drink thickener. To be given in liquid to people having difficulty with drinking. Then what do I do? Turn the hot tap on. Sink blocked solid. I found plungers and all sorts of gadgets. Poking things down. Soaking from head to toe. Daughter returned just as I finally unblocked it (i was hoping she wouldnāt find out what an idiot I had been - too late!!)
That wasnāt all our disasters, but we did achieve a lot.
OOOHHH Celyn , what a day off lol xxx
Iāll tell you the rest at some time Jac Put it this way, wood glue came in very handy.
Well done on the Miele front Celyn - gold stars to you and your daughter. Must remember not to do that with Thick & Easy!! Iāve done sweet fanny ann all day, apart from a bit of paperwork and some sewing. Hope the weather will be a bit better tomorrow.
Dry walk this morning.
Tried to get appointment with Dr about my eyes, they donāt book appointments anymore!A Dr will ring sometime today to give advice and if he/she thinks Iām in need of an appointment then I may be deemed to be able to cross the surgeryās doorstep.Good job Iām seldom in need of a Dr.
Gosh, never heard of that system Rhosyn. Wonder how well it works?
Off to Brecon this morning to do a few jobs, thank goodness the rain has stopped (for now) and the wind has died down.
They do that system with us too, if you need an urgent appointment. Otherwise we still have to make an appointment which can be weeks ahead if you want to see a specific doctor, not the one on duty that day (who is the one who will ring you) I had an appointment today, and made it about 10 days ago. I donāt think it works very well because I would prefer to see a doctor of my choice who knows me.
bit better today ,just overcast but warmer and no rain
Day with hoover today and have to go to surgery for B12 inj later so thatās my day xx
Had a call back from surgery-told to bathe my eyes(which I have been doing several times a day)And go and see an optician.Donāt think much of this system as Iāve mentioned -good job Iāve not got to visit Drs often in fact I go once a year for my blood pressure check etc.But I suppose the older I get my body will need more attention(medically speaking)!
Thatās the sort of reaction we get Rhosyn. Pass the buck medicine. Also frequently you can be told to see a pharmacist. I have to say I have never ever found a pharmacists advice sucessful because they can only sell you over the counter medication, or tell you to see a doctor!!
Lovely sunshine today . My friend has a hospital apt today and no-one else has phoned so looks like our weekly pub-lunch is off
No news ,hope you are all having a good day xx
Same system in my docs as wellā¦has worked ok for me as Iāve been able to see my doc the same dayā¦
New dishwasher installed this afternoon, havenāt enough to fill it yet
