Over 50's Club Scotland

Evening Morty, We have some Red Squirrels in Dunnet Forest they used to tease Dageus, they came down from the trees and skuttled about near Dageus then they jumped back up the tree when he got too close to them, just out of his reach jabbering away at him, he would get so frustrated with them while he danced around the tree on his hind legs growling. He never caught any, and I think the wee Scunners just did it to wind him up.
Not been too bad a day here, just a couple of showers.

Got a few of these we fellows near Lomond:

Morning, Started out wall to wall blue first thing but over now, but at least it’s dry. Waiting in for a couple of deliveries so going to work out in the greenhouse this afternoon, I can easily see anyone approaching the house from there and hear their van.
Took this pic of the surfing bay while I drank my latte, it was so nice I wandered along to the stone seat near the pier end.
That’s Hoy the nearest of the Orkney Isles in the distance across the Firth.

Hi

Good Morning All to those in Scotland.

I had my weekly dose of Scottish Humour on Monday morning.

An Age UK telephone volunteer, a lady ex Police Sergeant who worked nights in Glasgow.

A fantastic sense of humour, very non PC and a very supportive and practical

personality.

Rox, you are at the beginning of your heart journey, I am nearing the end of mine.

Mine started with an emergency quadruple bypass 24 years ago.

Times have changed, treatment has got much better and you can reasonably a much better standard and length of life now.

They can do amazing things now and you have the strength and personality to have many years left.

I wish you well, I really do.

Evening All, Another quiet day no pool I slept in, drove over to Wick to the big Tesco and got the stuff I can’t get here, then I went to the bench above the harbour to drink my latte. Started to rain so took refuge in the shelter of the Pilot House and finished my latte and watch the waves till I felt like driving back.
Thanks Swims, I get really down about it sometimes, got my first hospital appointment on Friday, I’m to get a bag of liquid iron by a drip in my arm, about a half hour they said.

Hiya Jessie, welcome back…Aye…30c is just far too hot for Me too…I’d have been hiding inside with air conditioning :grinning:

Hi Jess, good to have you back. 30 degrees would have had me hiding away with a fan, don’t understand why I can’t stand the heat these past few years. A few years ago I’d have loved it.

Yes, the climate has changed significantly over my lifetime, In my schools days we didn’t get much much above 70F/22C, A couple years ago ge got up 40C here.

Morning All, Sat in the hospital carpark waiting to go in for my first appointment of the month. Had to arrive an hour early just to get parked
It’s a big dose of iron through a drip today, not sure how long this will take then it’s a 30 minute wait before I can leave.

Hi Rox

It works quite quickly to give you more energy, it allows your blood to carry more oxygen around you.

The only problems I ever had with is that it can make your skin look rusty around where the canula is put in.

It can also take some time, so it gets boring whilst it is going in and then waiting afterwards and on occasion you can be next to someone who you can’t move away from determined to bore you to death.

Let us all know how it goes.

Morning All, Not too bad out today so I’ve got a couple of loads of washing to do and hopefully get it out on the ropes to dry. Feel a bit sluggish today don’t know if that’s because of the iron yesterday or not. Nurse said I might feel a bit off for a few days. Anyway doing what I can and resting between jobs, out for dinner tonight and maybe down to our village local afterwards, for a wee while. Dunc’s pals are always there on a Saturday evening and I know he loves to catch up ect ect.
Enjoy your W/Es
