I got the bedding done and it’s dried and put away, the big struggle was trying to get the clean duvet cover on. I hate that job it fair knackeres me. Towels are being done tomorrow, I’ll put them in the machine before I head to the pool.
Morty, it’s a wild and beautiful place the Highlands, especially the north coast. When I first started coming up here 20+ years ago the first thing I noticed was I was very tired in the evening and slept deeply, I was told it was the lack of pollution that was the cause, and yes the air is much cleaner.
We also get fantastic shows from the aurora because of the clear skies and air.
My Granddaughter flew into Inverness late last night and had to drive up to Wick. That always worries me a little until I hear from her the following morning which she just did. I can relax now.
Morning. Another lot of washing out on the line. Hairdressers later for me. Rox I think you notice the difference in the air when you leave the city. EZ, you’ll be glad your grandaughter arrrive safely in Wick.
I always find the road easier after Inverness, once it drops to 2 lane, I am not comfortable on motorways, too many speed merchants tearing along.
Morning, It’s too blooming hot for me already even the Clydes are hiding away in the stable. I get the feeling himself will want to take them to Dunnet Beach this evening to let them cool off, if we time it right the tourists should be packing up.
Not much on the next couple of days, trying to keep out of this heat, got the fans running and that helps.
Should get cooler in the next dayor two and not before time … I don’t like it too warm either, espcially not this airless mugginess type of heat.
Morning. It was really warm here yesterday , and going to be the same today Meeting up with friends later in town, so the suncream will be on and I’ll be covered up.
Morning, The only time I’ve been cool today so far was while I was in the pool, spent ages sitting in the poolside jacuzzi after my lengths, lovely cool bubbles washing over me…Sigh.
Hiding away with the fans again, this heat is draining me, will be so glad when it ends.
I’m struggling too … I’m flaked out on the bed like a beached whale. Too warm. Don’t fancy food. Don’t fancy sex. Just ice cream.
I recall the temperate being hot at 21C (71F),when I was in Scotland. Now here in Yorkshire it is 31C. Too bloody hot ------------(
Morning All, It’s shaping up to being a other hot one
moan, groan. The car was like an oven the back of seven when I left for the pool. Roll on Autumn and a bit of cool.
Again nothing on till this evening when I water my tubs and take the Clydes to the beach.
Enjoy your “very hot” day folks.
Morning. A lot cooler here at the moment, so catching up on housework. Had a loovely afternoon with friends yesterday, lots of pipe bands in town, for the World pipe band competiton on Saturday.
Hi
You are so, so lucky Rox.
Amazingly beautiful, some of the best fishing in the British Isles.
I know a lot complain about the place, in particular the unfriendly locals.
The locals are lovely, very friendly and helpful.
Unless of course you behave like an entitled, arrogant, condescending English git.
Then you will get what you deserve.
It does help to be a Yorkshire Angler, Yorkshire as in talk to people, down to earth, buy them a pint and generally don’t think you are a superior being., just basically don’t be a total prat.
We have the offensive Southern English here in Yorkshire Rox.
They find themselves fishing in the wrong place at the wrong time and with the wrong bait.
You have them worse.
I apologise for that.
I’m getting more and more fustrated with this Site, It simply will NOT let me start a new thread. All I ever get is ERROR, ERROR, ERROR. I’m so sick of it. All I can do is answer so I’ll post this here and hope it’s seen.
It’s about Banks restricting how much cash pensioners can take out of their account.
No need to apologise Swims, not your fault, It’s the ones who refuse to book into the proper Sites for Motorhomes as they would rather freeload that get our goat. They park where they want no matter who it upsets, I’ve seen them in Farms, in Cemetery’s, in passing places, beside no parking notices ect ect. Just last week some begger removed the NO Parking Notice at the wee beach at the end of the village and set up camp. It’s all going to end in tears as folk have had more than enough of it.
Aftnoon my Scottish friends …
I’ve just looked at the lightning map and things are getting lively North of Hadrian’s wall … should cool things down for you though.
Nothing much here so far. Just a few rumbles of thunder.
Well I hope it stays OK.
Just a quick post to let you know I’m taking a break from here.
