Over 50's Club Scotland

Morning, Slept better last night as it was cooler, seems to be shaping up for another sunny day, the sun is just starting to rise over the ocean. Away to the pool shortly then breakfast and off with the hairy one. Hoping to get a bit more work done outside this afternoon, those weeds just don’t give up :frowning: Also have to cut back several huge shrubs to about 3ft, the bamboo has really shot up this year as I was unable to do any pruning in the Spring.
Hope your workmen are not driving you nuts, have a good day.

Good morning. Looks like its going to be a bit cooler here today. Haven’t done much in the garden yet. Doors are in and that’s that job finished. Guys coming to install Wet Wall this morning, niece coming to take me to the bank then lunch with friends later.

Morning, Boy it was a shocker last night, it got down to minus 1.:astonished: It’s only 5deg at the moment. Beautiful skies though as the first aurora of the season appeared. Did you see it?
No pool today, just not in the mood, maybe later if I feel like it.
Nothing planned just the usual, walk the hairy one, and jobs around the house.

Evening, It felt a bit colder here last night, no I didn’t see the aurora last night. Bathroom is finished and I’m really pleased with it, glad its finished so I don’t have to get up so early in the morning.

Glad it’s all done, I’m an early riser I often get a hell of a sore back if I try to lie in.

I’m glad its all done now waiting for it all to be uplifted. Waiting for garden furniture to be delivered, I bought it last week in Dobbies sale. Meeting up with friends later I haven’t seen them for a few years, haven’t heard from Bonnie for a few weeks.

Morning, Dull here and a lot cooler. But the sky played a blinder last night with another aurora, this is over the new Seafarers Statue over in Wick where we were last night visiting friends.
Been to the pool and am away to walk the hairy one shortly, bit tired today so not doing much, may have a nap later on. Have a nice day.

Evening. A lot cooler here today and its raining. I love seeing statues dedicated to people. Had my hair done and then my niece took me to order a new laptop, will pick it up on Monday and she’ll set it up for me.

Evening a lot cooler today, starting to get the blues and it’s not even winter  was out early up the river and through the park with the hairy one and got a few things from Tesco on the way home. Not been out since, just had a lazy day here. Will be glad when it’s tomorrow and I get back to the pool and into my routine.

The Scottish baby box.
Not having had a baby for some years and not living in Scotland I didn’t know about this .
Don’t think we have it in England

Good morning. Went over to M&S yesterday to buy new cutlery, then my niece took me to Tesco for some shopping. Today I’m going to collect my new laptop from Curry’s with my niece which she’’ set up for me, Hi Muddy.

As far as I know it’s only in Scotland. It came about during Nicola’s reign. It was poo pooed by the Tories and Labour at the time, told it was a waste of money, but it’s been a big help to a lot of single mums and the unemployed.
I’ve seen one of the boxes and I think it’s a good thing they did. The SNP do a lot for the people of Scotland but it’s never reported in the media or the TV News, they are not nearly as black as they are painted.

Good morning, wet and miserable this morning. I’ve never really seen the contents of a baby box before it certainly is a good idea. Housework today and then get on with knitting a baby hat for my nephew coming from Australia on Sunday.

Morning, Didn’t go to the pool this morning, just couldn’t get myself out of bed. To be perfectly honest I’m not enjoying it as much as I used to. It’s not nice swimming in the really cold water and the hot tubs are now luke warm, I really used to enjoy it but now :cold_sweat: :scream: :fearful:
Several of the older members have left because of it, despite complaining bitterly to the reception staff. One lady has arthritis in her hands and the cold water hurts her a lot. She has just put in her months notice.
Just thinking about going out with the hairy one then over to Tesco.
I saw what was in a baby box because I was at my daughters house when one was delivered to her next door neighbour and we were in for coffee so helped her unpack it.

Good afternoon. Been offline for a few days got my new laptop and had to wait for my niece to sign me into the site.Waiting on a new tumble dryer being delivered sometime today, I hate waiting for deliveries.

Been in bed most of the W/E and yesterday feeling really rough. Had my 2 jags for flu and Covid on Friday, was ok till Saturday lunch time then something or other hit. I’m assuming it’s side effects but can’t be sure.

I hope you feel better soon Rox.

Hi Rox hope your feeling better this morning. I go for mine next month. Heavy rain here last night and I hope the storm isn’t as bad as they say. Still have two hats to finish for my nephew and hope to finish them today.

Morning, A bit better today. Made it to the pool but only did 20 lengths and spent the next 30 minutes in one of the hot tubs, it was lovely as the temp has been upped a wee bit. Tired now though, so not taking the Hairy One out for an hour or so and after a well needed latte.
Nothing planned will see how the day goes. The ocean is getting rough so I may drive down and have a look once the storm arrives.

Evening. Went out early today because of the storm warning. Got what I needed and caught the bus home. Also had the Landsacape gardener here today and he is going to start in the morning.
