Over 50's Club Scotland

Afternoon. Weather is a lot better here today, a bit warmer and a bit of blue sky. Going food shopping later and ger a bottle of wine for later watching television.

And 1 cm of rain here, South Yorkshire.

It’s blue sky and 13ºC in Not Scotland this morning, but the locals are running around in winter coats and hats like the ice age is forthcoming. I was going to take my good boy mastiff lab mix out to kayak again, but he nearly froze me to death yesterday trying to launch the kayak ballasted with his dense rear end off the cold, muddy shoreline. I think I’ll dig through crates of Christmas ornaments instead.

 That made me laugh.

You’re an engineer Bes. But at what stage in your life did you start to use metric parlance as a matter of habit? I’d still have a natural tendency to say “about half an inch” instead of 1cm when in conversation.

Hi Dextrous. I first started metric around age 20 but I am still quite conversant with either. Many industrial projects are still around with Imperial units. And I travelled quite a bit including USA so they still use pounds.

Evening, Today I was determined to drive my car come hell or high water. I needed to get out and about a bit, I am going nuts stuck at home, made a latte and drove over to do a bit of wave watching, plonked myself on a seat and got some sea air too. Fair enjoyed it, tomorrow I will brave Tesco then head to the Front.

Well done you! I can hear the satisfaction in your voice, well, your fingertips.
You really do sound like your old self now. I’m so pleased for you as you’ve had a rubbish year or two.

Thank Morticia ! We had lunch with my sister today - we are from Scotland but now we live in South Yorkshire,

Happy St. Andrew’s Day! It made the news even here in Florida, with a local group holding a public celebration in a nearby park.

Hope those who did celebrate had a great St Andrews Day.

Morning, What a day, the Haar is getting thicker by the hour, can hardly see a yard in front of you.
Definitely an at home day, made a big pot of lentil soup and potatoes, done a tidy up and now going to have a snooze in front of the fire.
Hope it’s better where you all are.

It’s not great but mainly heavy rain here and definitely not weather for going out.
Tomorrow’s supposed to be better.

It’s been mild but rainy today. Tomorrow should be dry but cooler - around 9C here in jolly Donny.

I like cooler if it means it will be sunny … I hate the wet and windy stuff.

Evening out early this morning for a facial. Was dry here until four o clock when it started raining. Off to London tomorrow with my nieces for two days. Rox well done on going for a short drive.

I am jealous; but I need more of a sanding than a facial.

Have a wonderful time with your nieces!
