Over 50's Club Scotland (Part 1)

Good morning Each, another mild breezy one here,
found a large bag of Daffodil bulbs in the shed which I’d forgotten about,so I’ve been busy planting them into tubs,
nothing planned for the rest of the day will just take it as it comes,
Have a good one Girls whatever You’re doing,xx

Good afternoon. Still a strong wind here. May I haven’t bothered with any plants this year, I’ll wait till I move. Ordered my sofas today, picked out a carpet and got some paint pots to try for colour. Libby is going to look on her local FB page for a painter so that job will be out of the way.

Good afternoon all. Son is coming from work to take me to Sainsburys for my big shop. Very windy here today too, girls.
Jess what colours did you go for? You will sitting painted and comfy soon. I love the smell of new furniture and carpets in a new house.
The smell of fresh paint always reminds me of Christmas because there was always something needed touched up. We had to wait until we had the kids presents in to see if we had enough money for a lick of paint or some wallpaper, so it was very last minute.

Evening Ladies, Another wild windy day here, some of the garden fence is down, blast it. Still it’s supposed to be getting back to normal over the weekend. Of all the different weather we get it’s the wind that I hate the worst, it’s so destructive.
Not done anything much just the usual, swimming and dog walking, with a general tidy up around the house.

Jean hopefully I’ll be sitting with the paintwork all done and the new carpet laid. Rox I hate the wind as well especially here at the front near the sea. Its stopped this morning thank goodness, out later to get more bubble wrap. I have some ornaments that belonged to my mum’s mum and don’t want anything to happen to them.

Morning Ladies, Thank heavens that awful wind has gone, will be able to see about getting the flattened bits of fence back up. Just back from the forest and never met a soul, soooo quiet in there it was eerie. Sun was trying to come out and looked lovely coming through the trees.
think we are out for dinner tonight, will find out when himself comes in for lunch.
have a nice W/E.

Good morning. Rox hope you managed to get the fence fixed. More packing here today and take some of the boxes out to the garage, also the everything that is going to the dump when I get to Renfrew.

Good evening all. Had quite a busy weekend. Watched the Grands on Saturday to let their Mum and Dad have a night out. James was a bit hyper but eventually managed to get him to sleep about 10pm.
Today took a cross to the our local remembrance service for my Uncle George who was killed at Salerno in 1943. He was only 26 years old my Mum’s Big Brother and my Dad’s best friend. Never knew him as I wasn’t born until 1950 but my Parents talked of him a lot and I always felt close to him. I promised my Mum that I would remember him when she was gone.

Beautiful atmospheric picture Rox.

Good morning. Jean my mum’s youngest brother was killed in Italy in the war. I donate to Poppy Scotland and they send a cross which I put his name on and its placed in Edinburgh. Moving day and I’ve still some stuff to take downstairs, so better move and get it done.

Morning All, Dry but lots of low clouds hanging around so it will probably rain. Just back from the pool and getting ready to take The Hairy One out, heading up river this morning. Just getting on with things around here today and maybe get a couple of hours with knitting my thick cardie later.
Hope it all goes smoothly for your move Jess, I don’t envy you I hate moving house.

Thanks Scott, it was lovely in the woods yesterday, now 99% of the tourists have gone back home it’s peaceful up here once more.

Good morning all. Good luck with the move Jess. Let us know how it goes.
Lovely picture Rox. You can enjoy your beautiful surroundings now the tourists have gone.
Enjoy your Monday everyone.

Hi all …again !
As Ive been away for a while I thought Id ask for some advice
With Christmas just round the corner I would like to enjoy Christmas somewhere warm for a change
as Scotlands weather as we all know is …well

Ideally Id like a cottage on the beach so I can jump into the ocean and swim on Xmas morning and have Christmas dinner also on the beach
Id intend to spend around £10,000 and £15,000 between accommodation and food/drink just to relax wind down and enjoy the end of what has been a very life changing year !!!
So my friends does anyone know how I can get the money :grinning:

Hello Caveman Welcome Back. You have just described one of my sisters Christmas Days. She lives in Sydney Australia and as well as having a pool for a back garden she lives 5 minutes from the beach. Her family have Christmas Dinner on the beach and the young ones play in the sea.
I can also swim in the sea on Christmas Day, but I don’t want to as it’s freezing cold. Some loons do though also on New Year’s Day, not me I’m often there with the camera to watch though, and listen to the shrieking as the cold water covers them. :grimacing: :grimacing: :eyes:

Good morning Each,a very wet one here after a lovely dry warmish weekend,so not going out,
Been moving furniture around most of the mornin’ as I almost fell over the treadmill in the living room when I went in to open the blinds/curtains in the dark…forgot it was there in front of the tele’…so…out to the SH it went…last thing I need is to fall and break My neck…or hip!

Welcome back Caveman long time no see…Hope You’re well :grinning:

Good luck with the flitting Jessie and hope all goes smoothly.

Good evening everybody. Hi Caveman thought you’d won the lottery. welcome back. Rox one of my nieces is off to Aus next week. May all went smooth thanks, still a few things to collect from the old house, we’ll collect them at the weekend.

Hi @Rox I was only being silly, Scotland Dont think we could handle sunshine on Christmas morning
See you still posting fantastic pictures, I also like it best spring and autumn away from the tourists so we get to enjoy our beautiful countryside mostly all to our selves Cheers all

Sorry to hear You have health prob’s Caveman, hope You are now on the mend :hugs:

Enjoy Your day Folks,xx

Morning, What a fog since first thing, can hardly see across the yard. No sign of it lifting either. Was heading up river for The Hairy Ones walk today but I don’t think that’s wise, I know my clumsy ass of a dog he’ll not see the edge and end up falling in, will head over to the beach instead.
Stable duties for me after lunch followed by a very hot shower, I always feel as if I smell like a horse afterwards.
Have a nice day.
