Over 50's Club Scotland (Part 1)

Raining here too, Roxy. What a change from yesterday!
Dentist for me today. First time in about 18 months. Was glad when they phoned though as I am feartie when it comes to dentist so always like to get checked regularly so don’t have any major work needing done. Fingers crossed :crossed_fingers: lol

I saw my dentist a few weeks back, like you first time since the first lockdown. Passed muster I’m glad to say.

Well this Thread seems to be of no interest anymore. As I have too many problems/annoyances with this new setup I will not be here so much.
Look after yourselves.

I too am having problems getting on Rox and I spoke to Jess and she is locked out. Maybe the others are too. Hope you are feeling a lot better now.

Evening All,no,I haven’t been locked out Bonnie,I just gave My laptop a rest in its case for a few days :grinning:

I recall saying some time ago that I didn’t know of Anyone who had covid, well that’s changed in the past week or so as My SILs Brother and His Wife are both spending 10 days in isolation after testing positive, and My two Neighbours across the road from Me are doing the same…They don’t seem to be too badly affected as Daughter got a call when She was here today asking would They drop by with 2 special fish suppers for Them for Their tea …They’ve all been double jabbed,

Can’t think how Jessie managed to get locked out and I;m sorry I can’t be of any help except to advise Her to contact Azz,

Morning, It’s dry here and that’s all I can say for it. :slightly_frowning_face: Just back from the pool and heading out shortly with the dog. Then it’s just a catch up day.

Morning May and Rox and all who follow. Not sure about the weather here was very dull to start but now the sun is coming through.
May as you know my Son had Covid but came through it ok. My SIL comes from Kent and his Aunt and Uncle in their early seventies both died with it. It was last winter around Christmas when it was really bad down there. When are we ever getting out of this? Parts of Scotland are the worst inEurope at the moment! Doubled jabbed everyone still needs to be careful, amount of people not wearing masks is ridiculous.
Rant over going to the PO with a parcel .

Good Morning Lassies,a sunny one here so had a dauner up the hill tae the CO-OP for well-fired rolls which I had with sausage/bacon/eggs…tae hell wi’ the waistline,

As for the virus, gawd only knows when it will all end but the so-called experts and the governments haven’t a feckin clue what to do next…The 2 Women I mentioned yesterday wore masks all day in work, but that’s where They think They caught it and passed it onto Their Husbands, one who had very mild symptoms and the other no symptoms at all…I’m beginning to have 2nd thoughts about the booster jags now,and the flu’ jag too,so I’ll just continue to keep doing as I have been doing all along…I can live without going to Restaurants, pubs, cinemas, theatres, holidays…it’s Everyone for Themselves and good luck with it,because that what it all boils down to…LUCK.

Morning everyone. Rainy here today but not complaining as it has been a bit too clammy for me recently. Plus the garden needs it.
Strange times we are living in at the mo. Sometimes wonder if I will live to see things back to normal. Though I think “normal” has changed forever.
Need to pop out for some rolls so a wee walk in the rain for me today. Quite looking forward to it.
Enjoy your day whatever you are up to.

Good Afternoon Bonnie & all…Aye the rain was welcome today to clear the air and the gardens need it,

I think this virus will be with Us forever and We’ll have to have a jag every Winter like the flu’ jab…But I’m def’ not keen in getting both together at the same time as the UK Gov recomend here starting with the over 70s age group…feck that…I was a willing guineapig earlier this year with the covid vaccine, but I’m not as willing now for this.

Double jabs of flu and booster coronavirus vaccine can “start now”, one of the UK’s top medical officers has said.

In a message likely to be repeated by Nicola Sturgeon later today, the deputy chief medical officer for England said patients over 50 can begin receiving flu and booster coronavirus jabs simultaneously.

Professor Jonathan Van-Tam told a Downing Street briefing: “Double jabs can start now, subject to the availability of both products. It is reported that the double-jab can be rolled out for over-70s first and that everyone over-50 can be boosted in time for Christmas.

Van-Tam told reporters that the data from trials on giving flu in one arm and Covid in the other at the same time gave good results.

Afternoon May. I will take the Booster and Flu jabwhen offered. I am sure it was the double jab that helped me when My Son got it. Also I look after my g/kids and don’t want to take the virus to them. Although they are more likely to give it to me!
James has special needs as you know and if he gets a sickness bug or flu he shuts down completely takes no food or fluid.
Aw hopefully there is a good day a coming. When I turned 70 a couple of years ago I also got a jab for Shingles. It is a one off jab given to folks over 70.
Son taking me a wee jaunt to M &S Kinsgate when he finishes at 3.30. Need to get my skates on and a wee half slap as well so I don’t frighten the horses!

I wish I was as confident as You Bonnie but what scares Me is having three different vaccines put into My body within six months…double astra zeneca five months ago, then the booster will be pfizer, plus the flu’ vaccine…that is what’s worrying Me…Also how do We know it’s safe to have pfizer & flu jag administered at the same time on each arm?..I too have had the shingles jab 8 yrs ago,and I always go for My flu’ jag…I think I’ve just lost trust in these so-called health experts,…let’s face it,…We won’t know for some time to come if any of this will do more harm than good!

Evening Ladies, Been another cold wet day here. Bbbbbrrrrrr makes me want to sleep and not poke my nose out.
I too am wary about these booster jags, I had a pretty lousy time of it with my first one and a sore arm with the second. I have always had my flu jag every year, we got letters from the surgery saying we would be called in October sometime but not for both jags together.

I hate snow and the thought of seeing it this early makes me shudder. BUT, I found this on my FB Page from one of my American chums. Beautiful and sooo clever, don’t you think.

Wow!..snow horses…beautiful and clever.

Afternoon Ladies, Dry but dull the day, got the washing out so fingers crossed. Got a phone call from the GPs Surgery a wee while ago and got appointment for Flu Jag, next Wednesday 11.45. Was told they are doing the Covid Booster later.
Have a nice day.

Afternoon all. Quite sunny here today.
Washing my wheelie bins. Always put a liner in my black bin which keeps it fresh and my paper and cardboard one keeps not bad but food waste and plastics and bottles always need a wash.
G/son sent home from school vomiting yesterday, but touch wood he is taking water ok this time. He usually gets really dehydrated and blood sugar gets too low. So seems to be slowly bouncing back. Another boy in his class is in hospital,on a drip.
Always something isn’t it. Have a nice evening everyone.

Morning, The suns out and it’s blue skies all the way, it really lifts my mood. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: I’m doing a heap of washing today and starting to put summer things away till next year, hauling out the sweaters and freshening them up.
Away along the beach with the dog shortly, after I put the next wash on. Make the most of the sun today girls.

We in Scotland make the most of the sun when it shines as it doesn’t happen often enough think thats why we enjoy it more
