Hello All. Yes indeed, a great day. Back early from bothy. New wood burning stove fitted, wall paneling fitted and white gloss paint hurled at a few surfaces! All went exceedingly well thanks May. Not long back, so immersion is on for a long hot deep bath. Bliss. Sorry to hear of your Dreaded Lurgy May. Keep fluid intake up and hopefully you’ll soon be A1. Myrtle - I know all of the places you mentioned. A great part of the world if you enjoy walking and the great outdoors. My Brother-in-Law used to live in Giggleswick, in the same area. Superb countryside. Great pubs with proper beer too. Cheers !
Gorgeous day here too , sun shining . Made some broccoli and cauliflower with cheese sauce for my dinner . Going to have it with a nice end bit of cheese tiger bread mmmmmm !!
Hi All,I can’t be bothered cooking tonight as I did plenty of that this Morn…so Abbey & Terry You’ve both put Me in the mood for something cheesy and simple…don’t have any tiger bread which I love,so it’ll just be seriously strong Scottish Cheddar with crackers,an apple, and some grapes…cheers My Dears
I’m home now and reading about your lovely food is making me hungry
Another lovely day today with gorgeous sunshine … left hotel at 9.30 am and went to Skipton to catch the Embsay Steam train to Bolton Abbey … only a short train journey but very nostalgic and great scenery.
We then had time to wander round the Abbey ruins which is set in fantastic grounds with wonderful views in every direction … then back on the coach for a visit to Haworth (of Bronte fame) … I was there a few weeks ago with my granddaughter so I was glad we were only given an hour there before we set off for home.
All the places we visited are on the “tourist trail” so they do tend to get busy but I usually go for a walk off the beaten track … speaking of which … Mike I just had enough time to do a one mile walk along the Pennine Way when I was in Hawes
Abbey … I suppose it is difficult for you to get away with having dogs (or is it just one dog ?) … I have decided that the clock is ticking and I’m going to do what I can when I can whilst I’m still fit enough to lug a suitcase around to join the coach trips.
Also there were quite a few people on this weekend’s trip who had walking sticks and, because nearly all the places we visited were hilly, they couldn’t get to see the sights.
I was like that for about three years before I had both hips replaced seven years ago and it was so frustrating but my new hips gave me a new lease of life and I’m back doing anything and everything
Mike sounds like you had a busy weekend away at the bothy. May your soup sounds good. Abby broccoli and cheese sounds good for lunch. Myrtle I want to go on a few more coach trips, I’m like you I want to get out as much as I can.
Afternoon Folks, and what a gorgeous warm sunny Day it’s been…did a wee tidy up in the garden after shopping, and planted some mixed Primroses in tubs,
Daughters have decided to give up wine for the whole of October to support Their local Charity…One SIL is also giving up cheese, the other says He’s giving up ignoring His Wife nagging Him to do things around the house/garden,lol,don’t think THAT will last for a whole Month.…I’m going to be good too and give up crusty white bread but I almost faltered when passing the bakery Aisle as I’d been thinking about tiger bread since yesterday…it’s all that Abbeys fault :-p…Hope You’ve All had a good day and enjoyed the sunshine,x
Can’t beat the cheese Tiger bread May , mmmmm ! :-p
Myrtle we have 4 dogs and 2 cats so it is difficult for us to get away . However we do sometimes .
