Over 50's Club Scotland (Part 1)

Castelton to John O Groats road, Roxy? Fabulous weather for February, too! It’s so beautiful up that way. The North 500 is a mixed blessing, isn’t it?

The beaches - wonderful. We used to go to them all. If you saw another car parked up, you’d go on to the next one, which would be empty.

As for the state of politics in Scotland right now - it’s shameful. It’s so very sad - Scotland can be better than this.

I hear on the grapevine Cherry wants to form another Independent Party with Salmond…so…There’s no love lost between Her and Sturgeon :-p

Oooh, I didn’t know that…well, I shall wait and see what comes of it, May…

Yes,interesting, but very unsettling times for Us Scots Pixie…let the chips fall where they may…I also hear Cherry
would take the UK Gov’ to court if They refused another referendum, lol…Life is just a bowl of Cherries

Oh lordy, rolling my eyes at that info, May! We just need to stick together, and hope for the best…also put our vote in the right box come the elections!

Yes Castletown village to Dunnet Forest. Have you been to Strathy Bay?

Yes. I think we did all the beaches, really. We loved Farr beach the best, I think. They could be so hot in good weather!

As May says… Let the chips fall where they may, I’m sick of the lot of them and don’t give a damn anymore. Scunners and Cretins as far as I’m concerned. :089: :090:

Farr Beach is the one at Bettyhill isn’t it? Not been to that one. I tend to stick to the ones near to home. Dunnet, Castletown, Thurso, Sandside, and if I feel like a drive then Strathy.

Good Morning Each,it’s a dry dull one here but I’m too lazy to go out walking,…outside windows are filthy so that’s the one and only job I’ll be doing today…Have a good Sunday all and keep safe.xx

Good morning. Grey skies here this morning so its some housework and out for a walk later. May I’ll have to clean the back windows. Mr. seagull left a calling card on it.

Yes a bit grey here too , but the sun is trying to get through. It’s hair cutting day today…O H needs a trim, might treat ourselves to an Indian takeaway tonight…

What is the north 500?? is it a new road

The North Coast 500 is a 516-mile (830 km) scenic route around the north coast of Scotland, starting and ending at Inverness Castle. The route is also known as the NC500 and was launched in 2015, linking many features in the north Highlands of Scotland in one touring route.
Length: 516 mi (830 km)

This maybe it Paula.

Afternoon All, Grey and chilly here today, whacked out and covered in hair but I finally got that blooming long heavy coat off the dog. :104:
This is what the NC500 brought up here last summer, Durness was bad but it was the same all along the coast…It was hell.

Yes, Farr is near Bettyhill. It’s huge.

We were stunned by the amount of traffic on the road on our trip north two years ago. We stopped at Durness and it was mobbed. We couldn’t get lunch anywhere but luckily had some sandwiches with us so that was ok. Then we needed the loo, of which there are two, one M, one F. My daughter spotted two coaches pulling up and said ā€˜Mum! Quick! Run!’ and we managed to get in front and avoid the worst of the queues.

Most people seem to go in a clockwise direction but we were going anti-clockwise so there was a lot of backing up to be done on the road. We cut across to Lairg and that was lovely and quiet.

I think whoever came up with the NC500 hadn’t expected it to take off like it did, but they definitely need to invest more money in facilities to ease the strain on local people and encourage more visitors to spend more money in the area.

Good Morning Lassies,a fine sunny frosty one here so off for a walk after breakfast,

I see there is a new variant of the virus from Brazil and some Folks have brought it here to Aberdeen via Paris/London…jeeze!..will the vaccine be useless against it,and will We be in lockdown forever?..I also see visitors to care-homes are being allowed from today for the first time…another case of cross Yer fingers and hope for the best!!!

I’m just a little ray of sunshine on this fine Monday Morn’,aint I:lol:

Morning all! I just applied for an allotment today (raised beds only, not a plot of land) SO excited to start growing my own food. :026: Apart from that, no other plans. Its really chilly this morning so have the heating on. Have a good day

Good morning everybody. Foggy start here this morning, its disappeared and the sun is out. May I seen that on the news about the new strain. I’m only watching the news at teatime. Pixie my heating’s never off. Family coming down later for a visit.

Well it’s a lovely day here. We sat outside for a bit and I had to take my jacket off as I was too hot. Its hard to believe the change in the weather. The birds have certainly noticed. What a racket. Its nice to hear them though. Also nice to hear the wee ones playing in the school near us.
