Morning Ladies, Weather doesn’t know what it’s doing today but it’s not too cold, so that’s good. I hate being cold.
Jess, has your hairdresser put up her prices since the lockdown?
I have to get my flu jag on Sunday at 4.30pm. Not to turn up early and to wait outside away from anyone else, and wear a face mask.
Glad you got out for a walk May, it’s horrible what’s going on in your area.
We’re off for the flu jag this afternoon…have any of you had a leaflet in from the Scottish gov about fire alarms, it seems that now we’ve to have a heat alarm in the kitchen as well as the living room hall and landing, and the ones we already have won’t do …if I’ve read it right …they have to be intertwined…and it’s all to be done by February 2021 That’s the first I’ve heard about it…
Oh May…thinking about those old 78’s and vinyls…those were the days …
and the singers were dressed nicely then ,half of them run about in their underwear now…
No Paula not heard anything about new alarms. No need anyway as my back door is always open when any cooking is going on. If there was a fire we can get out through any window if need be, as it’s a single story cottage we live in.
May just hope the outbreak in your area goes down. Roxy one hairdresser has put up her prices by two pounds, which I was expecting. The other one hasn’t put up her prices most of us have been going to her for years. The girl who does my nails put her prices up which I was expecting. Paula I haven’t heard anything either about fire alarms. I have one in the kitchen and the hall, also a carbon monoxide alarm in the hall.
These are the areas under stricter covid rules for the next 2 weeks which includes Your area too Jessie,
Nicola Sturgeon has announced a raft of tough new measures designed to slow the spread of coronavirus across Scotland.
She told MSPs that the rules, most of which come into force from Friday at 6pm and will last for at least 16 days until 25 October, “will feel like a backward step” but were in the nation’s best interests.
Restrictions across the central belt, covering the NHS areas of Greater Glasgow & Clyde, Lanarkshire, Ayrshire & Arran, Lothian and Forth Valley, will be tougher than in other areas.
Haven’t had any letters about smoke alarms Paula…I have 3…one each in the kitchen/hall/living room…I live in a Bung’
Aye they were, nothing quite like the ritual of taking a 78 out of its album cover, dusting it with a velvet cloth, then placing it carefully on the turntable
Morning, Another day of dodging showers for me. Again no washing out to dry, I hate drying it inside. Heading over to the stable later, have to give it a good gut out and brush the horses. Good job we have no neighbours as the burning used straw, pongs lol.
Good Morning Each,it’s a dreich murky wet one here, but…I’m not going out…again :-p
Into the SH to cover sofa & cushions etc’ and bring the pot plants indoors for the winter,
Found a few scribbled notes last night by My late Husband inside a Neil Diamond LP cover…had a few tears but it prompted Me to start writing in My memoirs again which took up the rest of the evening,
Taking one day at a time as We don’t know what’s around the corner in these very troubled times,
Just read an article on our local FB page. From February we will have to change smoke alarms and have a heat pad in the kitchen, they have to be all linked together. If you own your own home you are responsible, local housing authorities will have to install them. You can check it on the Scot, Government page.
Good evening to you all in Scotland, just logged on for the first time in a while.
@ May, sorry to see you’ve had problems with sciatica, it sounds extremely painful. Good to see though that you are not feeling quite as bad now and are back posting again.
I saw the references about smoke alarms and new regulations in Scotland so found a link for that, see below:
Changes in smoke alarm requirements in Scotland
For anyone interested the Scottish Government page with that information
can be found on the link below:
Good Morning You lovely People,it’s a fine dry one here so a potter around the garden tidying up…trees are starting to change colour so millions of leaves to clear in the coming weeks,
I’m continuing to stock up with groceries etc’ as it looks like it’s gonna be a long lonely winter and We may have tighter restrictions before it ends
Hi Baz,I’m tickety boo again thanks,Ye canny keep an auld rebel down for long
My large smoke alarms were replaced a couple of years ago with new smaller ones plus one added to the living room,so if one goes off in the kitchen then They all do…it’s never happened so far,… and like Roxy I cook with the back door open and I don’t have a chip pan or frying pan as I use an Airfryer…
Good morning everybody. Baz good to see you dropping in again. May I’ll probably try and get out and do a bit in the garden. Also the ironing board is calling. Looks like I’ll have to call a local electrician to install the smoke alarms for me.
Afternoon, Real Autumn feel today, but it’s lovely out and a wee bit heat in the sun so I’m happy. I’ve started the daily sweep up of leaves from the garden, There is only the one tree in the garden and it sheds everything. I also have a load of Bamboo growing and boy does it make a mess at this time of the year, it get everywhere.
Just working around here this afternoon, been out with the dog and been to the shops.
Morning, Yes Paula sorry it was Beki who said she was giving the gym a go. Heading to the hairdresser this morning as I’ve decided to get a load lopped off. Roundabout shoulder length so as I can still put it up in a clip. Hope I don’t regret it later. Weather’s dull but dry. Have a nice day.
Morning all…It’s a nice morning here…at the moment, thinking of doing some shopping today, while were still allowed out…you never know when it could all change…
