Over 50's Club Scotland (Part 1)

Hi Baz. May it was a bit cooler here today and some rain. I cant wait for my favourite fish and chip shop to open. Followed by ice cream sat on the prom. Beki one of my neighbours used to use Jeyes fluid for weeds.

Morning, Brrrrr it’s cold, and the rain is coming down in sheets. Haven’t walked with Dageus yet but tough I’m not going out in that. hoping to get over to the huge Tesco at Wick later today, need to restock with the stuff our wee shop hasn’t the room to keep.

One day I was out and couldn’t be bothered to return home having to cook and then eat a meal,
as I do most days. Driving along a familiar route there was a Fish & Chip shop and it was open. Haddock and chips was absolutely delicious! Not had any of that since probably January. Are they not open in Scotland?

Well then, totally unintentionally you have got that right as I’m ten years older than your brother,
in which case compliment accepted and understood then!

Good morning everybody. Roxy no rain here yet, although there has been a few showers. Baz they are open, two you have to phone an order in. The other one is open with social distancing. But their fish and chips are a bit of a hit and a miss. Got some ironing to do and a few other things around here.

Good morning You lovely People,it’s wet wet wet here, not raining heavily, just a constant drizzle,:frowning:

I don’t really know if My local Chippy is open or not Baz,but as it’s just a small one I can’t think how the Customers could maintain the 2 mtres distance,…haven’t a clue if They deliver either…I think I just want a fish supper because I know I can’t have it,heh heh,and normally I would just go for one 2/3 times a Year as a treat …What I am really missing is going out occasionally for lunch/dinner as I’m fed up with My Own cooking.

In the meantime,stay close to Home,stay safe,save Lives,xxx

Our local Chippie is down in the village, by the time we get off the farm road to the main road, into the village then along to the Chippie is about 3miles. There are several in Thurso but that’s over 5 miles. Not sure if any deliver, don’t think so…

Good afternoon. The morning seems to have slipped away from me. After reading your posts I looked on line & there are 2 fish & chip takeaways here which are doing on line orders & deliveries. Like you, May, I seldom eat fish & chips but think it’s the idea of not being able to go out & in as I please (trying to be sensible) that’s giving me ideas! I will remember about the deliveries when I get desperate. I have some Jeyes fluid, for cleaning pots more than weedkilling, Jess. I want it easy, I want to put down some decent weed killer & only have to do it a couple of times in season. I don’t have grass or a lot of garden as I had most of it chipped & paved a few years ago. I just prefer to be busy doing other things than gardening. Roxy, I haven’t been in Wick for about twenty years. There was a Family History conference there last year & I thought of going but had other commitments around that time & couldn’t quite fit it in. It’s been drizzly rain here this morning so can’t get into the garden & I’m beginning to long for different scenery. This too shall pass! Enjoy your day.

Evenin’ All,well it’s still drizzly rain here and I fell asleep on the sofa watching drivel on the tele’,woke up and thought it was morning …Think I’ll don wellies, raincoat & brollie to go out sniffing around the Town for the smell of fish n chips :-p…or…I’ll just shuv some frozen chips in the oven then smother them in salt n vinegar…beam Me up Scottie

Morning, Dry but dull here, just back from the beach with the dog. Am all chuffed today as at long last I have an appointment with my Chiropodist to get my ā€œnow clawsā€ cut, they are blooming sore as they don’t grow the right way and I can’t cut them myself. But he went back to work last week and I got a blanket text along with the rest of his clients, I rang him straight away and I got an appointment. Will be bliss to be able to wear my favourite boots again. :mini:
Have a good day all,

Good morning all. Managed to get fence paint this morning so, weather allowing, that’s my task for the day. I’m waiting to see if the clouds blow over. Enjoy your day.

Good morning ladies. I think we’ll all be meeting family and friends for meals and coffees. Roxy I don’t think my chiropodist is open yet. Did some gardening yesterday and a few other things. It started raining in the afternoon which I don’t mind. Going for a walk later and will pop into the co op for bread.

Good Afternoon Folks,a bit cloudy, sunny, windy here, but mild…Did some shopping up the main street and I’ve decided not to order any groceries online for a while to see how things go…The first bus has double deckers running from Glasgow every 30 min’s which are sorted for distancing,so I may get out to the shops in the next Town soon 3/4 miles away wearing a surgical facemask of course …Yay! :-p

Don’t have any prob’s with My plates o’ meat thank goodness so I’ve never been to a chiropodist, glad Yours will be sorted Roxy and You’ll soon be walking on air again

Sure am, it’s such a relief to have the claws trimmed lol.

Good morning ladies. May I’m thinking about getting the bus to the butchers in Wemyss Bay, he is the best butcher around. Roxy glad you got your feet done, did you have a wee dance last night. Not sure what to do today shopping gardening or housework.

Afternoon, Just in from a very busy morning out in the garden, Grass Cut, 3 Beds Weeded, Weed Killer down in all the wee spaces between the slabs, Greenhouse swept out and tidied. I’m tired out as it’s so humid. Once lunch is over I’m away for a long hot shower and a snooze. We’re due a stormy W/E if the Weatherman is correct so I wanted to get it all done. Out with the horses tonight once we’ve had dinner, looking forward to that. Usually at this time of the year the beaches are heaving with tourists but they are still deserted and that’s great for the animals.
No dance Jess, just enjoyed having my boots on again

May – YOUNGER not OLDER, I blame the lockdown, it’s addled
my brain and turned it to mush!

Probably ā€˜mushy peas’ to go with the fish and chips!

Good Afternoon Each,it’s a mild very windy one here but I’m not planning on going out as I had a bit of a dizzy episode this morning due I think to the spondylosis in My neck,…thought I was having a stroke  as I just fell forward and banged My head on the kitchen door…scary…checked in the mirror to see if My coupon was ok,lifted arms above My head, then took My BP which was 117/68 which is normal,…haven’t been doing the neck exercises daily like I’ve always done,so,lesson learned,

Hey Baz I kinda thought You’d made a mistake with Your age but didn’t want to mention it

Have a good weekend all and remember to stay close to Home, stay safe, save Lives, xxx

I expect you will keep an eye on that, bear in mind though as much as I hope not, it could be a little more difficult if it happens again and you bang your head harder. I’ve just had myself checked out at the GPs as I’ve been in a rather stressful situation of late after a traumatic event, my blood pressure was 144/92 when usually it’s around 131 / 82. I think it is just stress but will soon hear what the GP reckons, also had a blood test as that was missed earlier due to the coronavirus situation and me worrying about going to either the doctors or hospital.

Guessed you might have noticed, well you are a canny Scot after all!

You too May and of course all in Scotland.

Aye You’re right Baz,it could have happened when I was out walking but I think I may have stood up too quickly from the table after breakfast…anyhoo…if it happens again it’ll be appt’ with the Doc,

Your BP is really very high so I hope Your stress levels get better soon…it’s just a hellish stressful time for Us all especially Folks with ongoing health problems and I think some of Us have gone a bit doolally not knowing when/if it will ever end…let Us know how You get on at the Doc’s…a problem shared is a problem halved…take care and stay safe.x

:023: Thanks May, not a ā€˜fun’ time for anyone and seeing as I haven’t seen any family since 12 February and I live on my own, I wasn’t doing too badly. However, a really bad event beginning of November last year traumatised me then hence the high blood pressure now, probably due to the ongoing stress. Having had a heart attack this stress is not good but nothing I can do about the source of it, as yet. My blood pressure is always on the high side but within the usual accepted readings of 130 / 85. Anyway, got it checked out and now see what happens. No more head butting doors now, look after yourself. Will let you know results.
