Hi FM,Nom will be able to help You there as He’s quite the expert on wildlife, birds especially…the feathered kind of course
Just picked up my Granddaughter after 2cnd day at school, seems to have enjoyed herself. Playing I spy on the way home-
Abi- I spy something the colour of rainbow
Me- can’t see anything with all those colours
Abi- Rainbow!
Me- but there isn’t a rainbow!
Abi- I know, I saw it yesterday
Cannae win!
Best bird song and call site.
Still require several Scottish bird species, and 2 from down south to se all of Britains breeding species.
I don’t get out as much as I used to, or should. My Nikon hasn’t been out of its bag for almost two years! Disgraceful!
I don’t carry my big camera much these days, I got a new phone with a cracker of a camera on it. I take heaps of pics when I’m out, go through them when I get home and delete what I don’t want, upload the keepers. I only take the big camera out if we’re off someplace special, last time was a few months ago when my daughter was here and we toddled over to Orkney on the ferry.
Welcome Fridge Magnet and Weedeek so good to have you here, others do drop in sometimes but not often enough. Then there is Nom lol, he pops in to give the pot a wee stir and pops out again.
Scotland-Capercaillie, Ptarmagin, Crested Tit, White-tailed sea eagle, Corncrake, Scottish Crossbill, St Kildas Wren, some of these do occasionally turn up my side of the border, otherwise Serin and Cirl bunting from the south.
Im hoping for some new migrants this Autumn.
My north of the border cops are
Golden eagle
Gooseander
Goldeneye
Dipper
Waxwing
Wood Warbler
Nothing spectacular! But happy to have seen them.
In my local park down in east London. We actually had a Water rail! I had heard rumours. And saw it once when the park lake had been drained for maintenance.
The Political Section doesn’t get warm Derek, it’s light the blue touch paper and stand well back, often doing a head dive for deep cover.
You will get to know the trouble makers and the Scots Haters very quickly. Joe I’ve known now almost 12 years and we are good friends and sometimes talk on the phone. He’s a Tory Hater and winds up the Tory Lovers daily, it can be hysterical reading it all, but it can also turn nasty sometimes so pick your times.
Aren’t They great at that age full of questions …and cheek :-p
Evenin’ All and it’s a lovely sunny warmish one here now…managed to get the front lawn cut and do a bit of weeding…had to get the boiling water/vinegar/bleach on those damned weeds again…they’ve sprung up everywhere
Good Morning Each,a damp chilly dull one here but off for a walk to the CO-OP for veg’ to make a pot o’ lentil & ham soup and some crusty rolls to go with…see Ye A’ later
Morning May,i will be leaving the Scottish thread to the Scottish folks from now on ,if you are still in contact with Myrtle, let her know im asking after her.
Ta for the laughs.
Aww,sorry to hear that Nom…is there a reason?..I haven’t heard anything of Myrtle either though I know She’s on Facebook and I’m not…A’ the best Kid,We’ll miss You posting on here
You’ll never guess what just dropped through my letterbox! An invite for “Tea with my MSP”! Yes, Oliver Mundell, son of our beloved Scottish Secretary. Now, let me think. Naw!, just Naw.
Morning Folks, woke up tired and headachy this morning. Not helped by Himself being in the grumps too. Think I should go back to bed for another sleep, then get up and start the day over again. Sheeeze.
Fluffy Mundell? The man puts my back up as soon as he appears on my TV screen. THEN, he opens his mouth.
@ weedeek & Roxy…Who’s the fluffy one,Father or Son?..I don’t know anything about the Son,but I can’t stand the sight or sound of David Mundells whingy face & voice on tv and I just want to throw something at Mine every time I see Him on it :-p
You should go for tea weedeek especially if You like cucumber sandwiches and fluffy sponges
Hope You’re feeling better now Roxy, the only grumpy Person in My house is Her in the mirror :surprised:
I don’t know anything about the son either, it’s the dad I call fluffy.
Think I’ll go for a snooze after lunch, can’t stop yawning at all
Good Afternoon Each,it’s piddled with rain on and off here all day and beginning to feel very much like Autumn,
There’s a couple of wee Scots hating trolls getting up My nose elsewhere so I better bugger off before I’m tempted to retaliate…They’d just love to get Me banned
