Over 50's Club Scotland (Part 1)

Good morning everybody. Went to Edinburgh yesterday to meet friends and a wander round the Markets but they were crowded for comfort. Had some lunch and a few glasses of wine and then the bus home. Blue skies here today but cold, I’ll get out for a walk later.

Evening All :039: Didn’t stray far today. It was minus 6 when I went out with the dog this morning. Once I got home…there I stayed lol. I hate the cold.

Good morning everybody. Sunny and cold here today again, hairdressers then into town for a look round the shops.

Good morning everybody, another frosty start here today. Will have to get some cards today and a few calendars for friends. Will have to get the cards posted today as well.

Good Morning All :039: Very cold and icy here again today, just back from walking the dog and after my coffee am away over to Wick to do a bit of shopping…If I can get the car parked…

Good afternoon. Did my shopping and then had some lunch and a taxi home. The wind is picking up a bit here and its starting to rain.

Good morning everybody, raining here today. Off to get my nails done then into town for a bit of shopping.

Morning All :039:, No car scraping this morning  BUT if all that rain freezes tonight it’s going to be awful trying to stay upright tomorrow…:115:
Had a busy morning, dog walking and doing tidying up. Heading for the fire after we’ve had lunch…

Good Morning Each from a very dark grey Glasgow, the roads & pavements have frozen over after yesterdays sleet/rain,so there’s black ice everywhere…not chancing going out today as don’t want to fall and break something again .…Xmas shopping mostly done on line, wrapped, and cards sent,so a quiet day catching up on reading /writing after a cook-up for the freezer…keep warm Folks

Good morning everybody. Raining here this morning. May all my shopping is done and most of the cards. Off to meet friends in Renfrew for lunch and change presents.

Morning All :039: We got more snow this morning, Dageus enjoyed playing in it, but my moosh was tripping me all the way through the forest on our walk. I loathe the stuff and get very miserable in it. The roads are very slippy too, but as they are single track they are last on Highland Councils list of roads to grit or use a snow plough on :frowning: All I can say is thank heavens I have a 4x4 and don’t get stuck much.
OK, Moan over. Enjoy your day…

Afternoon Folks, well the ice has all melted when the sun came out and steam was rising from rooftops and ground…Hope the snow melts up Your way soon Roxy…take care.

A late good morning Lassies…well I set out earlier for a nice long walk in the sunshine only to find My path/pavements/roads are just one big sheet of black ice,I had to hang on to the fence to get back in…broke My collar bone some years ago when I slipped on the treacherous stuff,so wasn’t taking any chances today…hopefully it will all have melted by the afternoon so I can get up the hill

Morning All :039:, Not too bad out now but first thing it was a sheet of ice, was terrified of falling so Dageus is not going for his walk till after lunch. He’s sulking on the couch on his blanket at the moment. Throwing black looks at me … Need to tear the bedroom to bits and find my Ice Grips and get them on my hiking boots. Wonderful things, not very pretty to look at but they keep me upright…

Well I decided not to go out after all as the pavements are still glistening in the watery sunshine…hope the ice has gone by tomorrow as I aint been anywhere since Wednesday :frowning:

Good evening everybody. Out early today to catch the early train, taking no chances I booked a taxi last night. Walked home tonight from the station and it was fine. Roxy hope the snow has all gone. May hope all the ice has gone from your streets.

Morning All :039: Haven’t poked my nose out the back door yet but the car’s iced over and it looks c,c,cold. Will have to go into town today, not that I want to, it’s too busy for me and not easy to get parked. Getting fed up with all the pre Christmas madness, I’ll be glad when it’s all over and I can return to my peaceful life…

It is a long time since I have been in Scotland, stayed in the Rutherglen area of Glasgow camping, then move camp to below the Campsy fells with fresh bracken water stream to drink from. That was way back in my teens and drove my own mini van. While there did John o’ Groats up there.
This did surprise me on how flat it was compared to the rugged cliffs of Lands End in Cornwall. Even how close the inner hebrides looked ,I expected they were further away.
Visited Edinburgh and toured including visiting Ben Nevis. The popped over to Skye by boat (car ferry) no bridge back then.
I would love to go back some day but now live in the other end of the country.
See the memory lingers on

Good morning everybody. Staying home today to finish decorating the tree and some housework. Realspeed I think you would find big changes in Scotland from the last time you visited

Good Morning Each, another bright frosty sunny one here, but so is the bluddy black ice on the pavements in My Ave’,so it’s another day stuck at Home…:-(…The Ave’ is off the main Glasgow/Edinburgh road,so usually gets gritted at the same time, but not this year it seems…reason?..lack of funds……I don’t really HAVE to go out to shops for anything…but I just want to get out for some exercise…OK…rant over…:-p…Hiya Realspeed…haste Ye back…Keep warm Everyone,xx
