Over 50's Club Scotland (Part 1)

Afternoon Each…mer blinkin’ rain here…Love the poem Roxy…here’s another

Theirs’ patches on ma wellies,
Frae a puncture repair kit.
Theirs’ patches on ma wellies,
But I’m comfortable wi it.

A wore them aw through autumn,
Fir shufflin through the leaves,
Chuggin like an auld steam train,
In drifts up tae ma knees.

A wore them aw through winter,
Fir trudging through the snaw.
Wi faither’s fisherman’s socks on,
A wisn’t cauld at aw.

A wore them in the springtime,
In dubs and puddles deep,
And splashed in an oot o burns,
But ma wellies didn’t leak.

In summer ma faithful wellies,
are shunted ablo the bed,
It’s time fir serious training,
a wear ma trusty sannies instead,

Fir rinnin, an jumpin,
they were the best,
W’i socks at ma ankles,
Baggy shorts, an a vest.

I wis a sprinter, I wis a miler,
I wad even had Rodger Bannister beat,
Fir he niver trained in wellies,
Or haed smelly,sweaty feet.

So noo the summer’s ending,
The birds no longer sing.
It’ll soon be time fir ma wellies,
An the patches that they bring.

So A’ll pull them on,
like guid auld freends.
An Ah widn’ae change a thing.

Hello :039:

Good morning Each,it’s a bright sunny cold one here, perfect for a brisk yomp then a gallivant into the City after I hang the washing out,

Have to remember to be home for 2pm as I’m watching My youngest Grandsons graduation ceremony from His Uni’ in London,it’s being streamed so I can watch it on My laptop…fab’ isn’t it when I can’t be there in Person

Good evening everybody. Was at the hospital this morning for a small brown spot on my temple, they sprayed it and said it would clear away in a few days. May a very special day for you watching your grandsons graduation, its great how we can watch these things. I was at my niece’s in Cambridge and I have another one at Glasgow School of Art and Glasgow Uni.

May I bet you loved watching your Grandson graduate … a very proud moment and I’m sure Jess had tears in her eyes on her neices’ special day too.

Dancing tonight … seems ages since I’ve been because of holidays and dog sitting.

Good evening everybody. Myrtle enjoy the dancing. Usual Friday for me hairdressers then into town for some shopping.

Good morning everybody. Grey and overcast here at the moment. A wee bit of housework then the bus to Greenock for someshopping.

Morning All :039: Nice and sunny here but a right cold wind coming off the water. Drove over to Strathy Beach yesterday and spent a couple hours messing around in the caves there, and watching the waves crash while I had my coffee from the flask.
Enjoy your W/E…Am hoping the fireworks don’t go on too long tonight as my dog just hates them and gets himself into a right state :frowning:
Here’s a couple of pics from yesterday’s wee jaunt…

Roxy looks a lovely beach to sit and enjoy your coffee. Showers here today so its the local shops today. We used to have a bonfire and fireworks but, they stopped it last year. I haven’t really heard any fireworks so far probably will hear them tonight.

Good Morning Each,a fine sunny frosty one here, fab’ for My arthritic joints as they don’t seem to pain as much in the freezing cold

More great pic’s of the beach Roxy,You’re very lucky to live so near one,

No fireworks heard here so far…crossing My fingers this horrible Nov’ ritual will soon cease to be.

Good evening everybody. Not feeling to good today, felt dizzy and a bit sick. Going to try some and toast. Fireworks started here a little while ago.

Good Afternoon Each,a chilly windy one here but dry …so far

I do hope You’re feeling a bit better today Jessie and the sickness/dizziness has gone

Not been feeling so great Myself over the weekend as I’ve been dealing with an underarm abcess…it burst this Morning thank gawd, and pain has gone…but My bathroom is like an operating theatre scrubbed & disinfected to within an inch of its life, and I’m wrinkled like a prune with showering 3 times a day…so I’m hoping it heals without having to go to Doc’s for antibiotics as I’m allergic to some, and the idea of having it lanced gives Me the screamin abdabs  :-p

Hi Mat the weather is much the same here today. Glad that the abcess has burst it must have been really painful. My legs were a wee bit wobbly this morning. Did the inside of the upstairs windows and some ironing, going to put a washing on and do some more windows.

Afternoon Each,a chilly dry one here again but didn’t manage My walk this morn’,got up at 7-30 as usual, then decided to go back to bed with tea n toast 'til the house warmed up…fell asleep again!

Hope Yer wee legs have stopped wobbling Jessie :-p…See Ya all later,xx

Morning All :039: It’s very raw here but that won’t stop me heading off to the pool after I’ve walked the dog. What beautiful skys last night, the aurora was in full glory up here. Did anyone else see it? I believe it was pretty wide spread…
This was at Thurso Castle early last evening…
