Over 50's Club Scotland (Part 1)

Afternoon May, similar weather over the border, June has ever been a wet month, so roll on July so i can get out and about, off to the camera club tonight is todays highlight.

Good afternoon

The weather’s certainly changed … cold and damp here :frowning:

Been back a day now and missing the family . Rain couldn’t be heavier and it’s been on all day and is set to continue . Got the wood burner on to dry the boots that got soaked this morning
( that’s my excuse ;-)) Mainly I just like it on , I find it cheers me up in miserable weather .

Good afternoon everybody. Got home today and the washing machine is on. Weather wasn’t to bad when we were away apart from yesterday when it rained day and night.

Afternoon Each, weird weather today, dull but mild and clammy, yeuch!

Wee Neighbour was cremated at 2pm and I’ve never seen such a quiet ceremony,no flowers, words, tears or meal afterwards, and just the immediate Family of 6…jeeze…I have it written that My lot have to have a knees-up with lots of eating, drinking, singing, and buckets of tears…otherwise I’ll come back to haunt 'Em :-p

Nice to see You back Jessie and hope a good time was had by all.

Hello :039:

May your neighbour’s send off is exactly the kind of thing I want but without my family being there !!! I actually want direct disposal but it’s something that can only be arranged after a death so it looks like a simple no fuss funeral but I will stipulate no service and no mourners !!!

My daughter is appalled at this suggestion but I’ve told her I don’t want her and my son taking a day off work to attend my funeral  … I came into the world without a fuss and that’s the way want to leave.

Welcome back Jess … glad you had a good time

May they usual have a meal of some kind at a funeral or a cremation. I haven’t really thought about what I want when I go and pop my clogs.

Never thought I would find anyone who thinks like me regarding funerals .
All my pets are cremated with no fuss when they die and that’s exactly what I would want .
How often at funerals do you see a whole lot of folks there who haven’t seen the person in years .
Maybe some old folk might have liked a visitor or two when they are still alive . I think a lot of hypocracy surrounds funerals .

On a brighter note I’m going my favourite Ardwell pond walk today . Not been for a couple of weeks as I was away . I’m sure there will be a lot of changes .

Good morning everybody. Abbey the only time you used to see some family members was a funeral, where you all promised to keep in touch with each other. Hairdressers for me today and some food shopping.

Sounds like a good day Jess .
My Ardwell pond walk was lovely . The dogs enjoyed it too . Think it’s their favourite place as well

Well said Abbey … my thoughts exactly

Afternoon Each, not a bad one here as it’s not rained so far.

Different strokes for different Folks where Funerals are concerned, and as I come from an Irish/Scottish Catholic Family Who have always followed tradition of a wake before the Funeral, and a celebration of the Persons Life afterwards…that’s the way it’s always been in My Family, and that’s the way it will be with Mine.

May the same with my family although not so much a wake, we do have something after it. Some rain here today and I managed to miss it. Still feeling tired after the holiday as we had a party to celebrate being together. Then another party to celebrate my niece’s daughter having a little girl after three boys.

I am a very long way from Scotland but I have always loved seeing pictures of it and reading Historical romance novels of Scotland.

Good Morning All,a bright sunny one here so a stint in the garden then cooking a roast dinner for Family later,

Hi Patty, nice to see a new face on the Scottish Forum…have a good Sunday Folks.

Good morning and hello and welcome to Patty

Warm and sunny in Macclesfield

Hi Patty and welcome to this little group. Still a bit overcast here today at the moment. Housework and some gardening if I feel like it and a walk to the shops for a few things.

Good morning everyone . Lovely day here in sw Scotland .
Been busy doing housework . Got the washing dried already and ironed and put away ! Also bathed my poodle . Just taking a wee break before my next exciting activity !

Welcome to Patty ,newcomers always welcome here .

Thank you for the reply May, as I have just signed on a few minutes ago. I’m not real good with knowing the different time zones but it is 5;59 pm right now here in La Porte, Texas. With the temp and humidity it is 97 and very beautiful and sunny.
