Hi

I weighed this morning,

The scales said Lo, I was so impressed.

Turns out the batteries where flat.

I weighed in yesterday. Let’s put it this way - my eyes widened and I gasped in as my hand went to my mouth and said ā€œHoly shā€¦ā€

Yeah. Not good. And it’s my own fault. I do really well during the week. Then the weekend comes along and that ā€œall or nothingā€ mindset creeps in and I undo all of the good I’ve accomplished that week. So I need to be more mindful of how I’m eating on the weekends.

For lunch today I had beef liver and butternut squash noodles. They were DELICIOUS! Found them at the supermarket in the produce section, already cut into ā€˜noodles’ and I couldn’t resist picking them up. I sauteed them in a pan with a little butter and a sprinkling of brown sugar. So scrumptious.

This is what they look like. I’d never seen them before.

They look quite thick, but do look tasty.

Hahaha

It was so good. There’s about a half of a tub left. I’ll eat the rest tomorrow with some fresh corn on the cob from the farm market.

Oh and I was looking at your photos of your garden. So lovely. Do you ever get frogs in your pond?

We used to Linda, but since we have Herons come down they all vanished.

Its homemade Chicken Curry and Rice today.

Awww, poor little froggies :frowning:

I’ve always loved little critters. From toads and frogs and turtles and snakes to mice and rats and and anything cute and furry. I had rats as pets for many years. Rats only live a couple of years or so themselves, but we would always replace the ones that passed away with others, or we’d have offspring from the older ones. Every single one of them was spoiled rotten.

Today for lunch I’m having seared scallops and the rest of the butternut squash noodles. And tonight we’re grilling out. Tuna steak for me, burgers and dogs for the boys and grilled corn on the cob.

I have started using spiralised courgettes now instead of noodles and also carrots, makes a meal look a bit more interesting.

Over here we call them ā€œzoodlesā€ because we say ā€œzucchiniā€ instead of ā€œcourgettes.ā€ Maybe yours can be called courgetti. Hahaha.

Today we had a roast dinner of:

Cajan Chicken Breasts, Roast Potatoes, Baked Onions, Cabbage and Swede with gravy.

We are having:

Fish, Potatoes & Cauliflower cheese.

Hi Linda yes I like he sound of that Courgetti

Today we had:-

Homemade Shepherd’s Pie with Sweetcorn and Spicy Marrow.

Me too

Today I had salmon patties with pea sauce and an ear of corn on the cob.

Today we had Lambs Liver, Mash, Runner beans and thick onion gravy.

Hope you are all doing ok—sorry I have not been around-I am currently waiting to go to a Breast clinic next week, for tests to check if I have breast cancer–feeling very apprehensive about it all-wondering how i will cope with my 2 dogs–one is now blind–how I will cope with my house ands garden–and basically how I will get through any kind of treatment with no family to support me. So as you can imagine, my food intake is the least of my problems right now…

We had Chicken Curry tonight with Rice.

Hi Mariana, what makes you think you have Breast Cancer? Have you noticed a lump? but i’m sure you will cope with it. Good luck next week.

yes Susie—I have quite a large lump, and my gp said it could be cancer–but obviously noone can say till ive had some tests…

Sorry to hear that Mariana, hope everything goes well next week.

Today I had Cod, Cauliflower Cheese and Runner beans.
