I am feeling a little better now thanks Linda–still struggling a little though–not been feeling well, and not eating right–plus it was my boyfriends birthday over the weekend, and we downed 2 bottles of Prosecco plus a few other treats !! I am feeling it !!! Just trying to be a careful as I can up until Christmas, and hopefully go back to my SW group sometime in January…
I think I’ve given up trying to eat properly until after the first of the year
It’s just I don’t want to gain back any of the weight I’ve worked so hard to lose simply because of the holidays. I may never lose another pound (because I’ve literally struggled just losing these 20), but I surely don’t want to get back the pounds I’ve already shed. So I’ll still pick at the Christmas treats (rather than deny myself altogether) and continue logging my calories with my normal diet.
Glad you’re feeling better.
That is sensible Linda–too much temptation at this time of year—but a little should not do too much damage…
It shouldn’t, as long as I keep it minimal. I can’t be gorging myself on cookies and cakes and other sweet treats all holiday season long. Luckily I don’t have a large sweet tooth.
Today for lunch I’m having 6 jumbo prawns (simply boiled with a touch of salt) with mango-pineapple salsa and peas. And that’s it.
A little bit of what you fancy won’t do you any harm, it is Christmas!
Today we had:
One Chicken Breast between us, couple of roast potatoes, carrots & peas.
Tomorrow its homemade curry & pasta.
Once again, I ended up not eating lunch. Had a very bad night with my eczema (dug myself raw) and didn’t get much sleep. So since I’m off work today, I took my son to school, went to the store to get some needed items, then came home and went right back to bed and slept until 1pm. I’ll eat my shrimp later with my wrap I’m having for dinner, which will be grilled chicken strips, onion, avocado and whatever else I can think of to toss in it.
the prawns and salsa sound delicious–I love prawns–but rarely have them…
I eat them often. I love seafood. Shrimp, scallops, clams, crab, lobster, squid, oysters, fish, mussels… just give me delicacies from the deep and I’m happy
Oh my goodness, I have GOT to try this…
http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipe/ricotta-raw-honey-and-pears
I’m getting a box of Royal Riviera Pears from Harry & David and I’m searching for new ways to eat them, other than just plain, and I ran across this recipe. I have raw honey, so I need to buy some ricotta cheese so I can make this soon. It sounds divine.
Also want to try poached cinnamon pears.
Wanted to share
Do you all like pears? Do you fix them in other ways besides just eating them raw?
I’m also going to post this in the food & drink section so I can get some ideas, as I’ll have a box of 9 pears and I don’t want them to go bad on me.
It sounds very nice Linda, and I love Pears, I do eat them just one a day, but I can’t eat that recipe because of my Diabetes, but it does look good.
Today for lunch we had a Jacket Potato, because tonight we are eating out at the Indian Restaurant.
Enjoy your night out.
Today for lunch I had crabmeat stuffed tilapia and tomato rice. Tonight for supper I’ll have a made-at-home chicken and bean burrito. I’ve been in all day and the kids didn’t even have school, so my son was home all day as well. We’re under a wind chill advisory and with the wind chill, they’re saying it’s -11 (fahrenheit).
Had a fry-up today.
Homemade Shepherds Pie and Homemade Oven Chips today.
Cooking Jewish Chicken Penicilian today for lunch.
Not sure where I am at the moment eating wise–just mainly nibbles–no proper meals…just do not feel up to anything much right now…
Picking and nibbling is something I’ve been doing way too much of, with all the holiday treats that keep popping up everywhere. I’m really trying to keep my regular food intake at a minimum. And while I’m still trying to watch what and how much I’m eating, I’m not going to bother with getting on the scale and worrying too much about my weight until the holidays are over.
Today for lunch I’m just having a few small baked potatoes and tonight I think I’ll make a fajita wrap with lots of sauteed peppers and onions and a little bit of steak.
I am having some salmon and avacado tonight–but do not feel very enthusiatic…I have not been o0n the scales lately–but all my clothes are feeling fine—thats good enough for now…
Today we had:
Chicken Kiev, spicy boiled potatoes and peas.
Peppered Mackrael, veg. stir-fry and King Prawns.
Today my boss and I are going out for our annual Christmas lunch to the seafood restaurant. Not sure what I’ll get yet, but I know what appetizer we’re getting - the lobster pizza, LOL
