Salmon, half avacado–carrot and apple tonight
Yum, salmon. I had the most amazing filet of salmon last week for lunch. It was raspberry-chipotle salmon and it was fabulous. I didn’t make it myself, it was bought from my store’s seafood department. They often take fillets of different types of fish and marinate them in different sauces and seasonings. They also have salmon ‘burgers’ you can buy. My favorite is the garden vegetable one, but they also have feta and spinach salmon burgers as well. I never actually eat them as a burger on a bun. I just bake them them up and eat them as-is.
Feta, spinach and salmon burgers sounds very nice.
Today its Chicken Salad.
i agree on the salmon burgers—
They’re good
Last night for supper I had egg salad in a pita. That was yummy.
Not fgelt too well the last couple of days—been very hectic—and I had a bad stomach all day–but feeling a little better now—
Hope you are feeling well Mariana.
Today I am making Lasgna’s, so today it will be:
Lasgna, plain Jacket Potato and a Side Salad.
Im a little better today , thanks Susie.
getting colder—we need more warm foods—im still undecided what to have.
Ive had a painful leg for the last few weeks–cannot walk much, so have to be more careful what I eat…
You know what we should do to liven things up around here a bit? Food challenges. Like a “vegetarian week” where no meat products are allowed. Or a “no bread” week, where we eliminate all bread products. That sort of thing.
I think the hardest one for me would be the no bread. I could live without meat for a week, but bread, not so sure
But I’d be willing to give it a try. We need some excitement around here!
I’m not into exercise challenges, so if you guys want to do those, you’re on your own
Its very difficult for me to go vegetarian or no bread, as I do have a Husband and I cooked for two and he wouldn’t eat vegetarian food.
Today its fry-up:
1 egg, 2 bacon, beans, mushrooms, onions, slice of bread.
Yeah, it would be difficult for me as well. I think I could live without meat for a week, as I make my own meals that are completely different than what I cook for my son and his dad. But bread… that would be tough. I live on wraps.
Pureed diet for me today. I just finished a bowl of cream of wheat cereal. My partial cracked and is at the dentist being repaired, so yeah… nothing to chew with, lol.
Had Spicy Chicken Salad today.
Soup tonight.
Soup tonight for me as well, chicken with brown rice. Also 2 corn tortillas (that I toast to get crispy) filled with boiled shrimp, shredded lettuce, diced onion and a drizzle of BBQ sauce.
Today we had:
Beef, R. Potatoes, B. Onion, Cabbage, Carrots and Gravy.
I only have bread twice a week now–once on thursday when I go shopping–and have a light lunch out-and once on Saturday, when I visit my ex BF and take us both a sandwich—probably his healthiest meal of the week lol
Plus I could not manage vegetarian-for a whole week, as I do not eat many veg.
But maybe we could try one different meal every week—I know I tend to keep to the same food. !
One different meal (or perhaps a food we’ve never tried) a week would be fun, but there’s one little problem… with a few exceptions, there isn’t much I won’t eat
I just stuffed my face with a whole bag of steamed cauliflower and I now I feel like I’m going to explode.
steamed caulifllower–yuk, yuk, yuk—but i expect its really good for you…
Yes, it’s very good for you. I love cauliflower (especially mashed) but a whole 16 ounce bag of the stuff had me holding my tummy for a while there, LOL
Susie’s meal sounds much better!
no even Susies meal did not appeal to me. Now last night I went to a curry and quiz night—but do n ot like their curry as it is too hot for me. I just wanted something light, so I chose a cheese omelette and salad–I probably have omelette at least 2 times a week–but their omelette was definatley nicer than mine–plus I had a little french bread and butter—i have not had french bread–or butter/marge etc in any form for over 6 months—so I really really enjoyed it—I stuck to water to drink.
Maybe just as well–our team came 4th--------out of 4 !! Never mind–we had fun !
As long as you had fun, that’s what matters.
I should probably weigh myself, I haven’t done that in over a week.
