Our Official Slimming Club Thread - open to everyone

I had a feeling i had done better–lost 2 pounds today–making it just over 1 stone since joining Slimming World–so really pleased with myself–plus i gt another sticker and certificate–first week of me having weetabix for breakfast–i wonder if that made a difference–plus i think it really helps to take my own lunch with me when I go out-at least I know I am eating right !1

Way to go! :mini:

It definitely helps to take your own lunch so you not only know exactly what you’re eating, but you’re not tempted to get take-out lunches. I take my own lunch to work with me probably 95% of the time. Every now and then I get in the mood for a burger or something and I’ll plan to go to Wendy’s and get one, but I always forego mayonnaise and cheese. All it does is add more fat and calories and I don’t really miss it. So a burger with just lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and ketchup & mustard is just fine with me and it curbs my burger craving.

Marks and Spencers now do a skinny burger 3% fat , but i cannot get there now–but one day I may and try to make my own SW style burger—i have some thin bagels which would be nice.

I like those thin bagels, but kind of transitioned over to the average sandwich thin because everything kept falling through the hole of the bagel, lol.

thats true !

I bought some chicken livers today–after i was reminded on here about them–only £1.00 a pack, enough for 2 meals—the guy who was stacking shelves was astinished at me buying them–thought they were only fit for feeding the cat—so I gave him a lesson in how to cook them !!!

Good, hope he tries them. I buy livers and gizzards for my dogs, sure, but I get some of the livers too, hahaha.

Never had Chicken Livers before, I always buy Lambs Liver, do they taste the same? and do they cook quicker?

Mariana, why don’t you try Muffins instead of Bagels, they are quite tasty.

Today I had homemade Curry and Rice.

Tomorrow it’s back to Salad.

Susie, I’ve never had lamb’s liver, but I’ve had calf liver before. To me, calf liver, as opposed to ‘adult’ beef liver, tastes different. I didn’t care for the calf liver, it was very bland and not as ‘livery’ as adult beef liver. But then some people like that it has a milder flavor. I like it tasting pretty livery. Like when I eat (or make) a pate, I want to taste the liver in there.

I guess the older the animal, the stronger tasting their liver is going to be. So I would have to take a guess and say that lamb is probably very mild.

Now, to compare regular beef liver to chicken liver, I would say the beef liver has a little bit stronger flavor and it’s more firm. Chicken livers are softer.

Chicken livers are delicious–do not need much cooking–plus they make a delicious chicken liver pate. Lams liver is nice too, as long as its lightly cooked–and funnily enough im going out to lunch on Monday, and lambs liver is what I have chosen .

Tonight i had fresh salmon–egg rice with chopped roast peppers in and peas–really delicious.

Yes, i could try the Muffins—yes, I do like them, but its ages since I had them.

Your salmon, roast peppers and peas sounds so good! I had peas and mushrooms today for lunch with my turkey burger and had some left over, so I put them in my tuna salad for tomorrow. Bought a nice big tomato from the farm market and I’m going to have me a tuna salad stuffed tomato for lunch.

Tonight, however, I’m making a quesadilla with grilled chicken breast, green sweet pepper, red sweet pepper and onions. Oh and some Italian Wedding Soup.

Crumpets would work, too. I’ve always wanted to make my own homemade ones, but my goodness, the process of making them looks very involved. I don’t know if I’d have the patience for that

How do you get the holes in the crumpets Linda?

Tin Red Salmon Salad for me today.

Well, I’ve never made them before. Every time I look at a crumpet recipe, it just looks so tedious that I decide against trying it and I just buy them from the store instead. But according to the recipes I’ve viewed, the holes just kind of form on their own.

Morning Ladies.

Today it’s going to be:

Cod, new potatoes, broccoli & carrots.

Sounds delicious. For lunch I’m making myself a nice big salad. I love this new raspberry vinaigrette that I found.

Change of lunch plans… I’m having a tomato, avocado and peppered turkey sandwich on light oatmeal bread and Maryland-style crab soup instead. I’m currently going through a new treatment for eczema on my hands and all that chopping and dicing for the salad wasn’t going to work out very well, haha.

mmmthat sounds good—I love avacado–but not sure just how good–or bad–it is for you.

I had a simple day
cereal, pinapple and orange-fromage frais
crckerbreads, cottage cheese==melon
and tonight-home made coronation chicken–lentils, roasted peppers, celey spring onion, sugar snap peas.

Well… they weren’t put on the World’s Healthiest Foods list for nothin
