Oh, it’s no problem, was just making sure everything was okay.

I don’t blame you. That would drive me to madness, haha.

You should be proud—you have done amazingly well—so quickly.
However-I have a lot more to lose—so the certificates and talk, and everything else, is something I really need to keep me going.

Quite honestly, after the last few weeks, I was almost ready to give up, but Ive had such a lot of support from my group, it really helps. Plus my group has its own facebook page which is so useful and helpful–not had any texts though !!

But a really really well done to you, I am sure your doctor is delighted.

Well done Artangel.

Mariana, don’t give up. And Wishing you a very happy birthday today.

I have got to be more careful if what I eat, as I went to see my GP this morning, who was not happy with my Diabetes, and he is now checking everything I eat and drink.

Today I had Salmon Salad, and for supper I am having Kippers.

I’m having salmon today as well. I make salmon patties from canned salmon and brown them up in a pan using nonstick cooking spray instead of oil. Then to go over top of the cakes, I make a pea sauce using fat-free Half & Half. It’s delicious, I’m chowing down on it now.

Entire meal, 389 calories.

What else do you put in the salmon patties Linda–I am sure that is something that I would enjoy !!

thank you for birthday wishes Susie–and no i will not give up.
cereal this morning, fresh fruit lf fromage frais-I really enjoyed it.
Out for lunch–so had a ham omelette with salad, peas. strawberries dessert and iced water to drink–so really pleased with that.
tonught I will have chicken and chopped vegetables–and an orange.

I mix one small can (6 oz.) of skinless, boneless salmon with 2 tablespoons of light mayo, diced onion, pimentos (if I have them around) a little salt & pepper and a tablespoon of salmon cake seasoning. Then I shape them into 2 patties and ‘fry’ them in a pan until nice and browned.

That’s my low-cal version. If I REALLY want to make some awesome salmon cakes the way my mom used to make them, I form the patties, then dip them in flour, then in egg, then back into flour and fry in oil. Lots more fat and calories, but omg, they are delicious.

Sounds good Linda.

Does anyone know of any fish that doesn’t contain loads of bones, I had kippers tonight and every mouthful was bones, it puts me off.

Just to add, you can also use a beaten egg, but then you’d have to add in bread crumbs or something similar to soak up the moisture and that, of course, just adds more calories. In your case, Mariana, you probably need a few extra cals, so you could do it that way instead. I use the mayo for binding the salmon together.

There are lots of fish varieties out there that you should be able to buy boneless. Unless you’re talking about tinned or jarred fish, like the kippers or sardines, etc.

Happy Birthday! Mariana. I hope you’ve had a lovely day!

Thank You to everyone for your congratulations for my weight loss. I ate some Thornton’s fudge today and l regret it!

tut tut Artangel.

No fresh fillet pieces Linda.

Don’t regret it. We can’t go the rest of our lives eating like perfect little angels and never enjoying the occasional favorite treat. Just count it as an enjoyed experience and move on

Oh. Well that stinks. There’s nothing I love more than checking out all the fresh fish and seafood at the seafood counter.

Can you buy things like smoked salmon? That’s always boneless, from what I’ve seen.

Hi Linda, yes I do buy Salmon, Sardines etc.

Today we are having:

Fresh Salmon Steaks, new potatoes, fine beans.

Thanks Linda–that sounds really great-and simple-may give that a go tonight–not sure about the salmon cake seasining–but im sure I can think of someting else.

Thanks yes–I had a quiet day, but enjoyed my lunch out.
How was the fudge–it is so sweet at the best of times–but after cutting down on sugar I cannot imagine–but 1 little treat will not hurt you.

I buy salmon fillets a lot-they sdo not have bones–either salmon tail fillets as they sare ceaper or the basics range from sainburys–they all taste the same.smoked salmon is ok too–as long as its not too smoked-I like a lightly smoked one–but I usually use it for pate as it has a strong taste.

Had nice breakfast today–my first nectarine this year–delicious–graped pineapple with cereal–fromage frais–enjoying it all moree than I thoought I would. And I know I should not go on the scales, but just started using my wii fit, and it does your weight and bmi automatically and already–acording to them, ive lost 3 pounds since thursday and my bmi has gone down by a half–so thats encouraging !! Anyone else use a wii fit—not neccessarily for losing weight–but it really helps me wth keeping my leg muscles strong—

Ohhh, that sounds lovely. I have a tuna steak in the freezer that I need to eat soon. Might have that next week.

You can use any seasoning your heart desires. This just happens to be a box of seasoning specially made for salmon cakes that I buy in the seafood department. It gives the salmon a little extra flavor, but nothing I couldn’t accomplish with my own spices. Sometimes I use the seasoning, sometimes not, it just depends if I have it hanging around.

Don’t like Tuna though!

The Salmon I marinated in fresh ginger and chilli and a dash of lemon juice.

Sounds yummy

Today we went to a Chinese restaurant, went out to lunch with my cousins. My cousin Karen and I shared each others’ dishes and I ate just until I started to feel full, then stopped. I only ate about 1/4 of the rice and took small servings of the duck and the house rice noodle.

I love the Salted Spare Ribs and Chow Mein, yummy!
