I use the Colemans prepared Mustard only because I can’t find the one you make up yourself which is a lot better, but you can use either of them.
Okay, well maybe I’ll try a touch of it, but not much. I use dry mustard on occasion for white sauces, especially when I make a favorite of mine, creamed eggs over toast. A pinch of dry ground mustard seed goes into that.
Today we are having:
Boiled Egg Salad.
If using for cauliflower cheese, try using nutmeg instead of mustard - not too much as it can be overpowering.
I’ll try that Judd, we are having Broccoli Cheese tomorrow.
Smoked Haddock, Jacket Potato and Broccoli Cheese.
I still need to pick up a head of cauliflower for the cauliflower cheese. I’d rather use fresh. Although frozen would work, too, once it’s cooked.
No plans for food today. I’ve got some running around to do. Tomorrow, however, for Sunday dinner, I’m making a baked brown sugar-glazed spiral ham, scalloped potatoes and corn cobettes.
Judd, the nutmeg went down well with the Broccoli Cheese, thank you.
Its a roast dinner today of:
Marinated Pork Slices, Roast Potato, Baked onion, Fine Beans, Carrots and gravy.
Chicken Salad today.
Again I am the only one posting on here.
No you’re not! I’m still around, just been busy and working a lot.
It’s summertime and that means - for me, at least - lots of tomatoes and avocado concoctions. Here are a couple that I thought I’d share. The first one I’ve eaten many many times (the sandwich) and the 2nd one I’ve got to make very soon.

First one is easy. Just make your favorite grilled cheese sandwich (I love Swiss cheese) and add tomato and avocado.
The second one I just found and need to make soon - it’s avocado egg salad. The recipe is simple, combining hard cooked eggs with avocado, mayonnaise and whatever seasonings you want in a food processor until it’s desired consistency. Then you spread it onto bread or, like in the picture, put it in a wrap, which is what I’ll probably do.
They look good Linda, I went to the Chip shop today and had Cod & Chips and Gherkin.
Mmmmmm, that sounds yummy.
We had a lunch out with my cousin today. We had Chinese. It was good, but I couldn’t eat it all. In fact only one person (my cousin’s husband) ate all of their food, so the rest of us were boxing ours up.
I haven’t had Chinese for many years, too much sugar and glutin in Chinese food.
Its a Roast dinner today:
Marinated Pork Strips, R. Potatoes, Baked Onion, Cabbage, Carrots & Gravy.
I have to drive to the next town for Chinese as the Chinese in the nearest town would poison you with the salt and sugar they put in their dishes
My preferred Chinese takeaway is just beautiful, sauces are so light that you can actually taste the food
A nice bit of Peking Duck, and Spare Ribs, yummy.
Linda, I don’t like Avocado, but you know its very fattening.
Avocado is very healthy. It’s high in calories, yes, and also high in fat. However, it’s full of mostly good fats. Avocado is considered a “super food” these days.
PS - fat doesn’t make you fat.
Had a really nice lunch todayL
Cheese, onion, mushroom omelette with homemade oven chips and beans.
That sounds good. I just had leftovers for lunch. Don’t feel very good today.
