Excellence !

long video going on the river douro

this video may not be in the exact order but most of it is. when I get time the rest of the video of the river to put up and also going into Spain with a few more. then hopefully a load of stills as well with spanish dancer videos

Very nice trip, realspeed. Thanks for taking the time to upload and share these. It looks like it was quite clear, considering the heat. The people along those shorelines have quite peaceful and beautiful places to live!

Are you in dock most evenings?

yes docked but on the move again before waking up. its going to take a bit of time to do the next lot of clips. I found a way of making long videos from a series of clips but using a particular editing suite.
first they have to be what is called rendered " smoothing the videos out", then downloading directly to youtube by using a custom method of extended the record time.
Saves having to do each individually then patching them together,
the one you just seen is something like 40 individual clips of film.we went into Spain as well with no border checks and took stills and videos while there. that will be my next project

through past experience I learnt to get the best place to video on board while everyone else were stuffing their faces for breakfast . Hence no idle chatter in the background. So soon as the finish its natter natter making videoing virtually impossible

part 2 some clips in wrong order not done by me but by editing suite about 30 mins into video I didn’t edit that bit out sorry

Looks like someone tried to rebuild the Sydney Harbour Bridge from a description only :icon_wink:

Apparently it has some connection with Eiffel.

Was it intended to be a tower?

An Eiffel tower over a river - wouldn’t that be amazing.

We walked all the way across the top. It was fabulous. I think I took this photo from the cable car ride you take from the top to the riverbank, just before we went to a Port wine tasting experience.

The picture underneath is the main rail station. It’s absolutely stunning. Before we went I had no idea that JK Rowling started writing her Harry Potter books when she was living in Porto. I only found out when we visited the famous bookshop. We saw a queue of people outside and wandered into this complete fantasy world.

I was enjoying the scenery until we came to the bridge.Maybe a marvel of engineering but it spoils the view. :grinning:

I have to say that I have never been on a boat trip that didn’t go on too long. I have been on trips up the Georges River, Franklin River, Parramatta River, Lake Argyle, the Shoalhaven and even off Broome but after an hour or so was wishing it was over.

Don’t know why.

@realspeed Did you see the Port wine sail boats, one for each Port company on the south side of the river where the Port caves are? We were last there 30 years ago, did a tour of the Sandeman cave followed by a glass.

And a Francesinha is a must. Beef burger with sauce on top then more sauce, egg is optional.

I understand the Francesihna is very hard work. I found it exhausting just watching someone else (try to) eat it.

It can be. I think it’s really a trad. a workman’s lunch.

with something like 500 to 600 photos it is impoissible to show all such as churches-street views- castles etc. So this of an old ruined castle
Hard climb to get here
showing old fort round tower

How times have changed! In the early 1970s I travelled to Australia overland which took about a year and recorded the entire trip on two rolls of 24 exposure 35mm film.
