Nicknames

My Dad used to call me Pickle, as a toddler & a bit older, no idea why.
Later & one day friends had the bright idea of saying our names backwards. I was Eirelav, it stuck, none of the others did, luckily they dropped the lav & I was Eire, pronounced Eerie for some time.:lol:

In my early teens I played softball. I was nicknamed Scorch as I did have a wicked fast throwing arm, and a redhead. It stuck for a a while.

You described this incident so well Ciderman!
I was actually on that school bus with you!
Such a laugh! You got your nickname by fluke
I bet nobody messed with you again!

I noticed a few members whose Dad had nicknames for them. My Dad called all four of his daughter’s Babygirl.
After he passed on and we shared stories about our childhood moments with each other. We noticed that he had a knack of making each of daughter feel special without the other sister knowing. He was an amazing man. I miss him everyday.

I was given my nickname by my primary school teacher & it was Twinkletoes!
He said I always looked like a fairy so that was what he would call me & everybody else at school called me that too. It was soon shortened to Twink, so that is where my profile name originated.

I have had a family nickname since I was a small child, which I like. I also had a nickname at my secondary school, which I didn’t like much.

My Mum and my godmother used to call me Pip.

Whilst working in the USA I was given the honourary nickname Philbilly by a few of my US colleagues because I could put on a hillbilly accent.
