Hello Jim. :grinning:

I expect there’s lots of small towns separated by big distances in Texas much like some of Oz.

I appear to have inncocently wandered into an Australia based forum, is that right? Could be interesting. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Nah, ya got that one wrong Jim lad, this place is owned and run by a Taffy, Azz.
Now that said there are times when it can be fun in here and of course the word games keep the mind sharp as do some of the topics

Welcome to the forum - don’t worry it isn’t all Australians here - many from UK. Lots of interesting topics discussed - do join the Good Morning thread (yes that is started by an Australian but we don’t hold that against him!)

Hi and welcome, Texastential !
I hope you find some interest among the fifties here. I have. I’m a Scotsman, I love my country, but I travelled the world including Texas. My field is power electronics and part of that has been on naval vessels, mostly on ice breakers.

No that is definitely not the case, Australians are by far outnumbered by Pommies and Yanks here.

However nothing is perfect but being Australian is about as close as you can get - none the less you’ll love it here.

Jim only has a very vague idea of what crumpets even are. Edible Muppets?

Welcome to this mix of nuts, Tex! Most are a pain the neck at times, but your expertise tells me you can have us pain free in no time.

Note: I collect a monthly commission for referrals.

Welcome Texastential, I’m Phil from the land of the Summer Settlers, aka Somerset, England.

I spent about 2 1/2 years in the USA, spread over a period of ten years, but only got to visit Texas once, and that was only whilst passing through Houston airport.

I hope you will find yourself treated “here” with the same friendship and respect I received whilst I was “over there.”
