@Harbal ,. I endorse that Harbie !!
Donkeyman!
You haven’t quoted what it is that you endorse, so I assume you mean that you also welcome Maree’s presence here.
Yes, we shouldn’t just be defined by our views on Brexit.
I’m afraid I can’t answer the Question of where the articles with the headlines you saw disappeared to - maybe they removed or edited the articles to correct their error?
The only article I found about it was in The Telegraph, using the headline
“ Right-wing populist party biggest threat to Tories in next election, warns think-tank”
Their headline is misleading too because it does not clarify what the Report actually stated.
I think I’ll step down from Detective Duties now and leave it there.
@Boot , ln answer to your questions Boot,
In the beginning there was BREXIT only !
Then there was For AND Against !! Which posters had to register to belong to!
God had decreed that the two must never mix or speaknto each other !!
Fortunately the FORS flourished and multiplied but the AGAINST’s sadly
withered and perished due to excessive anxiety and depression causing
some of them to throw themselves over the cliff edge that they
so feared !!
Here endeth the first lesson !!
Donkeyman!
Or maybe you told them they weren’t welcome on your forum, so they took umbrage, quit for more inclusive climes and left you to wallow in your echo chamber
But that was The Tale of Two Brexit Forums, in days of Yore
Luckily, some of us are made of sterner stuff
But I think he likes you when Brexit isn’t the subject.
Story of my life!
And a Brexit favouring forum? Really? How cosy I bet there were always a few Remainers sneaking in
Oh, don’t worry. We just ignore them!
‘NewKip’ would cost the Conservatives 53 seats, which would completely eradicate their majority and deliver a hung parliament. They would lose some of their more iconic 2019 gains like Dewsbury, Bridgend and North West Durham, as well as some marginal seats in the South.
If those 53 seats should go to ‘the new party’ (whatever it’s called), it would be an enormous and very welcome force in the Commons and would be able to influence the Conservatives seriously - assuming that they still form the government.
But I thought once the vote was in, we should have left straightaway. That was the democratic decision and I think it was the delay that caused such a lot of hostility
I certainly agree with this bit.
So you can understand why l am nsuspicious when a spate of anti BREXIT
posts start reappearing on the forum ??
It doesn’t bother me at all because I have no worries at all about the Brexit vote ever being overturned.
Makes one wonder about the Ukraine wanting to join the EU and how long they’d have bothered staying in it if it had the same experiences as the UK.
I think Ukraine is rated as the poorest country in Europe so they will only gain, and quite considerably, by joining the EU Club.
@Morticia , Can you substantiate that Ukraine is the poorest country in
Europe ?
From what l see UK must be top of that list ?
£3 trillion public debt ???
Donkeyman!

But what you see aside, are you experiencing it?
I retired last summer, and I’m living on a pension, but I’m quite comfortable. Not well off, but well able to support my wants and needs.
@Harbal , Well , l am a pensioner too Harbie, and my wife is a half
pensioner, my son lives with us but is not self supporting, So three of
us are living off of one and a half state pensions,we have no universal
credit as l keep a small current bank account for paying bills etc ?
Up to this year we have scratched bye by keeping travel and fancy foods etc
to a minimum.
This coming year is going to be a test for us l think !!
What have l observed in the six years we have been back in the UK ?
Well, the first thing l noticed was that the roads and streets were dirtier
and in worse condition than when we left 40yrs ago !
Second thing was the traffic was five times heavier, allthough the cars
were newer and usually the latest models, the drivers of these cars were
still living in houses built before WW1, and had their fancy cars all parked
in the roads and on the pavements ??
I could go on, but to keep it short, my impression was that the country
had actually gone backwards !!
Donkeyman!
P.S. Part 2 available on request!!

You are painting a picture I recognise, and yes, you have a point.
I could go on, but to keep it short, my impression was that the country
had actually gone backwards !!
I’m afraid that in many ways it certainly has.
Over my lifetime and experience, the nicest times in most respects I have known were the 1950s and 1960s.
Hey! Hang on! - before this thread becomes just another boring Brexit barney, can we get to the bottom of the original thread topic first?!
Nigel Farage has launched yet another political party to be dubbed “New-Kip” ??
Will you be voting for them, and why ??I think we should bend our considerably resourceful collective minds to establishing whether Nigel Farage has launched a new political party or not - surely between us we must be able to establish whether a fact like that is true or not - if he hasn’t, then the rest of the discussion is moot, so argument is over.
Cushty!
Hey - I once had a very clever collie called Kip. If he launched a new political party I would vote for my old dog.
@Boot @ Aerolor, l think the issue of whether Nigel is starting a new party
called Newkip has resolved itself ? As allthough it looks like he is recruiting
for suitable candidates on his TV show, he has left it too late as the time left
before the next election is surely too short now ??
Also, Boris has blown his majority and it seems as if the whole BREXIT deal
is now in jeapordy over the NI protocol ? Meaning we are , no longer tied to
obtaining our supplies from EU sources, this would solve all the problems
we have suffered from trying to get a trade deal instituted ? We can now
focus fully on sourcing our needs from elsewhere and maybe we can even
reboot our manufacturing sector to increase our exports too!!
And no more bickering over fishing rights either !!
All in all this could be a very good turn of events for the UK ??
