Needle-free Covid vaccination trials taking place in Cambridge

But surely Ripple, wouldn’t you want to research what chemicals are being injected into your bloodstream? I check out all my meds to see what side effects or damage they can do to my body before taking them. I then consider if the side effects are going to seriously impair my quality of life.
I considered that the covid vaccine had not been properly tested in the time scale that it had been produced. Furthermore, even posters on this forum had reported some serious side effects. The main concern of the politicians was to stop covid at any cost, they weren’t bothered about the long term effects, just the massive load that covid patients were placing on the NHS. In the event, most of the long term effects could, and are, denied by the establishment, because people have forgot about having the vaccine, and are not linking their unusual sudden illnesses on the vaccines, because a weakness of the immune system caused by the vaccines, will produce what appears to be unrelated symptoms.
I had covid, and it was very bad (I thought I was going to die) but I didn’t require hospital treatment and I strongly believe that my immune system is better off from having the disease. Of course, only time will tell…

You might consider the vaccine hadn’t been properly tested .
Which is understandable , there will always be concern by those not involved in vaccine development.

Usually medication can spend years in trials before being approved for use. The main holdup is lack of volunteer guinea pigs.

However with the covid vaccine thousands & thousands of altruistic volunteers answered call coming forward to trial the new vaccine.
It had never occurred before … it was magnificent effort.
We have them to thank for the end of the pandemic.

Mr Fox I hope you have set aside your fears and been jabbed .
As I know you’ve a serious heart condition.

Thanks for your concern Ripple, but I have still not had the jab. Covid could have possibly made my condition worse, but I survived and hope that my body might be better equipped to deal with covid should I catch it again…

I think the vaccines were full of Tater water.

If the topic is supposed to be about the trials of the new needle-free Covid vaccination trials, then Nobody on this Over 50s site will be eligible to take part in the trials anyway - the criteria to take part in the trials, which will last for a year, is for healthy volunteers aged 18-50 - so no need for anyone to declare they won’t be taking part cos they won’t be invited to!

I can’t see the point of re-running the same old debate about whether you should or shouldn’t have had the previous Covid vaccines or not whenever a thread comes up about a new development - I’m interested in the new developments but not in the old arguments that have been repeated dozens of times on this forum - it’s becoming boringly predictable to see the same old comments and arguments every time a new thread linked to Covid crops up - why not just save time a post a link to one of the old threads where it’s all been said before!

Let me put it another way. I’m strongly of the opinion that many people who previously had minor or no health problems, have experienced detrimental health effects as a result of having Covid. Whether vaccinated or not the disease leaves its mark and we don’t know the long term effects of contracting it. It’s a nasty disease which it will take experts decades to understand. I’m pretty sure it affects the brain too. I am not convinced that the increase in cancers is down to lockdown diagnosis delays. I know both those who were vaccinated and those who were unvaccinated suffer a reduced quality of life and health since contracting Covid. But often in unvaccinated friends and colleagues, I have heard regret that they didn’t take the vaccine because Covid was far worse than they expected and it has left its mark. Several of those I know were hospitalised, some in ICU. They were terrified. It changed their lives. They have suffered complications. From what I have seen being vaccinated prevents the severe illness which requires hospitalisation, but Covid still leaves its mark and whether vaccinated or not can lead to chronic disease. Although until they do sufficient research it will be very difficult to link one to the other.

So you link the problems to the vaccine whereas I link them to Covid itself. Perhaps we are both proved right long term, who knows. But humans can only do their best to deal with a crisis. People were dying in droves in 2020 and we had to do something.

Those are the exact words our GP used when we took my BH’s dad in for an appointment. He has had many years of experience and is only interested in people’s welfare and not in anything political or conspiracy related.

Talking about NEEDLE-FREE injections, I remember throughout my working years that there were plans for a Star Trek style sub-skin injector for people who are diabetic. That in the 1980s.

I wonder why it’s taking so long for it to come to the UK. I believed that we were ahead in technological devices. Oops sorry!

Didn’t WHO declare the pandemic over?
I stopped after three jabs, the last vaccination centre in my area is being closed and we are still developing new ways of delivering the Covid jab?
Now,if they want to find a needle free way of delivering the flu jab…
Not that I have a problem with needles.
I watch it going in at my annual blood tests😀

I think they still advise over 65’s and younger with health issues to have a booster.

In Victoria today:327 cases in hospital with the virus,17 in intensive care and 28 new deaths.

Hi

A brilliant post, much better than I could have done in explaining things.

It is the Star Trek Hypo Spray, a huge advance but only relevant to Subcutaneous Injections.

No good for anything else.

In reality it means no more risk of secondary infections from contaminated needs and it is also not scary, much easier to be given by unqualified staff.

I have had Covid twice, both times infected in hospital.

I survived, others , much younger and fitter did not.

I am happy about Covid Vaccinations.

No I totally agree with you Annie. A virus (any virus) is a dangerous thing to be let loose in a human body. And can, and will, cause long lasting effects. Before covid back in 2018 my neighbour - a very fit 85 year old - visited the doctor with muscle weakness and lethargy. This was six months after having a bad dose of the flu the previous winter. The doctor told him that the virus was still causing him problems and would remain in his system, creating mischief for a couple of years to come. He sadly passed away later that year, we think from an unrelated illness.
So I am fully aware of the damage a virus can do, but lets not turn our backs on reports of vaccine complications just because we have faith in what our government (and the media) tells us.

I wondered why “needle-free” injections were being heralded as a new breakthrough when they were developed many decades ago, so I looked up some info.
Apparently, the old style “jet injectors” stopped being used for mass vaccinations in the 1980s or 90s, due to concerns about cross-contamination leading to spreading bloode-borne diseases, such as Hepatitis or HIV.
The internal mechanism of the old style injectors could be contaminated by splash-back from one patient, then that contamination could be spread to the next patient to be vaccinated.

Jet Injectors have been available for personal use, such as the InsuJet insulin injections, as those machines would be used by only one person, which removes the risk of cross-contamination. I don’t think they ever have been widely available in U.K., though.

I understand these new “needle-free” injectors are designed differently, to remove the problems of cross-contamination - but I haven’t found out what is different about their design yet.
I will be interested to see how these trials develop - apparently this method of delivering a vaccine means a lower dosage of the vaccine will have the same effect as a higher dosage using the needle method. If there is another pandemic and speed is of the essence to produce enough vaccine to roll out a mass vaccination programme, being able to use a reduced dose for the same effect will be a great benefit.
As far as I’m aware, all these trials are aimed at being prepared for the future, in case another pandemic comes along.

I can’t believe that we actually discussing easier ways to pump medication into the human race on a regular basis.
It sounds like something out of a horror movie, or 1984 (the novel)
Children are now given umpteen vaccinations after they are born, and they will spend their whole lives being medicated on something.
Not only does it go against all that is natural, but somebody is making great deal of money out of our fears of catching something.

Boycotting informed consent, regulatory scrutiny, ethics and regulatory compliance were other methods used to speed up the release of the vaccine under emergency use authorisation too.

And not actually completing clinical trials and collecting all the data including the vaccines effects on pregnant women. But hey… let’s not split hairs eh ?

Fixed it for you.

Mass vaccination programmes and vaccination schedules for children have been ongoing long before 1984 - most people born in U.K. and still alive today will have been offered some vaccinations in their childhood - even my Mum who was born in 1923 was given some vaccinations in her childhood.
I remember being intrigued by the circular scar left by her smallpox vaccination - they had improved on vaccination technique by the time my generation were vaccinated against smallpox and by the time my children were born, a routine smallpox vaccination was no longer given because this deadly disease had been eradicated in UK and eradicated throughout the world, with the last known case being in 1977.

I wonder if people kicked up a fuss about being vaccinated for Smallpox when it was first introduced as part of a regular vaccination programme?
I would have been happy to be given some protection against such a deadly disease.
Imagine, without vaccines, we may still have outbreaks of Smallpox, which used to kill about 30% of the people who contracted it and left many who survived this painful disease with severe scarring.

There’s probably a list somewhere of deadly or severe diseases which have been eradicated or rendered less deadly due to the Health Services developing and implementing vaccination programmes and updating them to add or delete vaccinations as and when it is appropriate.

Hi

Big Pharma is apparently now killing loads of
us just in the name of their profits.

Best if we all go back to nature, no medical advances at all.

Bubonic plague, tuberculosis, syphillis, measels, mumps etc etc.

Women dying in huge numbers in childbirth.

Leper Colonies,Cholera, Typhoid, the list is endless.

What a load of Nonsense.

No Antibiotics, no blood thinners, no Pacemakers.

That would certainly solve the problem of Global Warming.

Not enougth humans left alive to cause any impact at all.

Can’t tell if you’re joking here.

WHO declared the worldwide covid crisis to be over. That’s just saying that the world isn’t in emergency mode about covid right now.

They can’t disappear covid by declaring it.

Which leads me to think that they are likely developing a vaccine method which will enable them to just spray us without our consent. So spray it through your letterbox or on the train through the air con…
