Ray, would you say that if it was your small dog that got an unprovoked attack and a torn ear for just having the nerve to walk past the other one’s house?
And would you still say that if it was your own dog which ran out of your house and attacked a passing dog for no reason?
You imply you would just shrug it off and think it normal behaviour.
That’s right.
That’s like saying people fight and kill each other, get over it…
Then if you would find that acceptable, and with that attitude, it would be entirely your own fault if you got prosecuted and your dog was taken away.
Governments seem to be OK with that.
Good afternoon all. It’s Sunday and I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone (apart from one poster) for your really kind wishes re Flynn’s attack.
Pleased to say that he is back to his normal little boisterous self today. His wounds are healing nicely and am going to give them both a bath this afternoon, which they both love.
(especially the towel dry and hairdryer set on warm brushing)
I will of course, treat Flynn with extra kid gloves whilst doing it.
Even more pleased to hear from a neighbour yesterday evening that popped in to see us, that the guilty dog owner has been true to her word and the dog has gone and is now permanently homed with her father, who is obviously a more sensible dog owner. Apparently, he went and bought a muzzle immediately and is using it at all times when he takes him out on a lead only. (apparently, he cannot get out of his garden at all). So that is a great relief to us knowing he is no longer around and we can once again walk the boys without fear.
Actually, she sent another text yesterday to apologise again, HWMO acknowledged it with a thank you. We don’t want to have bad feeling with a new neighbour. She is quite young with a young child, is obviously inexperienced as a dog owner, and one would expect , must be upset at what happened for the second time since she moved here.
We have, rightly or wrongly, decided now to put this matter to rest as the dog is no longer here.
Thank you all again for your good wishes re Flynn. I need you to know just what an outlet it was being able to share it with you since it happened.

It sound like a satisfactory conclusion has been found Shropshiregirl, and I agree that it is better not to have a battle with neighbours.
Little Flynn will probably forget about it in time, but try not to spoil him too much!

Thanks, I’m fine, and even more importantly, Flynn seems to be fine now.
He must be as he is back to doing what he does best, running up to the top step of the stairs, dropping the tennis ball from his mouth so it bounces down the stairs with him chasing to catch it, then the same procedure all over again. lol.
We are just going to try and forget it now, as it is too upsetting every time I think back about it. He’s here, he’s okay. that’s all I’m so thankful for.

glad to hear he is ok and glad to hear she has done the right thing. She might turn out to be a good neighbour after all.
So glad to know that you, your husband and Flynn are all ok. I know it is something that won’t ever be forgotten but at least you can rest easy now the dangerous dog is gone.

Good to read everything is resolved & the dogs owner sensibly took it to her Father to keep. I’m glad it is all settled now.
A dog doesn’t even have to bite someone to be put down under the dangerous dog act .
It only has to scare someone .
This was quite a scary incidence .

Err yes, sorry about that I was having a very bad day. Glad your dog is recovering.
My dog was attacked and had a bad bite on his back.The dog that attacked him was a rescue dog that the chap had only had for two days and he let it loose in the park. My dog was on his lead, and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. So sorry for you to have to go through this xxxxx

I can sympathise with you, a very similar incident happened to my dear little chap and I don’t mean Mr Ripple !
Mr R was walking (dog Jake) to the local pub ,when towards them intent on murder flew a Jack Russell.
At the time our little dog was just under a year old .
You can imagine the horror when the the Jack Russell grab our dog by the throat and started to shake it .
Mr R didn’t hesitate and kicked the dog up in the air , it ran off yelping !
Jake needed professional help re socialising .

What a dreadful thing to happen so glad it ended well, as you know I wrote when my late molliepops was attacked that didn’t end so well and we had to run the gauntlet for years after the attack wondering if today might he the day it happens again. Thankfully it’s dead now as it attacked a child and the authorities took more notice of that, but dog on dog aggression was OK by them.
