Badfinger had that Beatles connection, I see what you did there bud.
Crime Of The Century - great track and a classic album too
Fabulous record. Can’t fault the band.
Definitely two or three more coming up in my thread before too long as well
Hmmm, Mungo Jerry…the jury’s out on that one. I think they could have been much bigger if they’re rockier side had been taken more seriously.
Love early Dr. Hook when the band was with ‘The Medicine Show’. The track ‘Cover Of The Rolling Stone’ is one of my favourites.
Gosh mine too. I saw Dennis Locorriere recently… he is still as good as ever
He told us that they were all on tour sharing a hotel room in the early days when they got a phone call asking if they wanted to be on the cover of the Rolling Stone it was then they realised they had truly made it. the song was a tribute to that day. It was rarely played in the UK though as the BBC considered it advertising
My favourite track ot theirs is Freakers Ball it too would probably be banned now if you listen to the words … great track though
I was going to mention something briefly along those lines too actually Summer when that album appears in my own album thread, not that many of the forum’s ladies bother with it
Good to see Freakers Ball. I didn’t remember that song.
Some nice selections there, Longfellow. Good to see the Albert Hammond track. He wrote ‘The Air That I Breathe’ for The Hollies, and is also the father of the lead singer with The Strokes incidentally
You seem like you’re in a ‘folky’ mood today with those early selections.
Blimey mate, that looks like my gym in that Hellzapoppin’ video!
Bit different these, Longfellow but great fun all the same
