My Own Personal Choice of Music

Rod Stewart !

GM was utterly talented. Not always for my ears but a complete performer and gifted, creative talent but , like a lot his kind…vulnerable and flawed!!
Made some beautiful and timeless music. Had a lot more to give. A lot like Amy Winehouse, another brilliant talent imo ( not sound wise but personality wise)

Yes he did get about abit in the 60s playing with a lot of big artists.
A very talented fella I think his music is great no matter what style he puts his mind to.
I can’t imagine this went down well with the snobby bbc in the early days.
First solo single.

They never looked like that in my day.:wink:

Hey Floydy I see you posted a Waterboys album.
Great music but I also liked some of Mike Scotts others mainly A Pagan Place I thought was a great album.
Here’s a couple of my favs from the album.

Could well use some of the lyrics in a Brexit song.:lol:

I posted A Church Not Made With Hands sometime ago.

And this one so much better that Morrisons version. (Not on the Pagan album)

I like those Mike Scott songs very much, Longfellow and I’ll have to check out some of his solo albums. A very soulful rendition of the old Van Morrison song, although I love the original still.
To be honest I need some more Waterboys albums too…there’s just so much to catch up on.

Another one of my favourite Scottish bands.

You know mate, before the images appeared I knew it was going to be Deacon Blue.
One of my all-time favourite songs is Real Gone Kid. Our friends who we associate with occasionally still get up on the dancefloor with us in a big circle and dance to that record. It’s our own personal song.
And Dignity - that is simply a classic from a wonderful album, Raintown. Expect to see that album in my list very high up.
Nice choice again today, bud

Yep sorry Nom had to stop it on 2 mins I couldn’t take the dog howling anymore. She’s gone back under her blanket again now.

Just heard this beautiful song whilst watching Taken.
Not the best series but its making my afternoon pass faster.

Three cracking tracks there, Longfellow

The Chris Isaak and Billy Idol videos are a bit raunchy, like them a lot. I know that girl in the Billy Idol clip from somewhere, can’t think where.

Absolute Beginners is not only about David Bowie’s best 80’s track but one of his all-time greatest songs. Love it.
I’ve got the 12" still on vinyl, all eight minutes of it and it’s fantastic. Just a shame it wasn’t on an album of his, just a crappy film with Patsy Kensit!

:lol::lol:
I have my moments Floydy when the raunchier the better.
Thats why no prudes ever look into my thread.

If I was single my perfect wake up songs would be something like ZZ Tops… Legs…

or perhaps Tube Snake Boogie.

The music would blast my ears whilst the vids would certainly open my eyes in the mornings.
Do you think we should start a “Raunchy” thread for men.
The women can do their own.

Nice vids:-p
It would be a good to start a thread but you know what those old biddies are like on here sometimes. Not worth it mate, however much they enjoy flirting about the blokes. Doesn’t work both ways does it, sadly!

I’m not an old biddy:shock:
Live a let live I say.

A little mellow music and the best guy that I can think of to do this is Sting.
Love the guys music just so laid back.

Yes, I like Sting.

From the moment I heard this guy sing with Paul Young I had to buy his music.I must be honest some of it I just cannot understand,(I regret I have never been one for foriegn languages) but just listening to it just chills me out.

Zucchero

I like some of Sting’s music such as a lot of his work with The Police and the odd solo song. Fields Of Gold is a wonderful record. He does become very repetitive on his lyrics though tending to ad lib his way to the end of a song, and much as I like Dire Straits, his vocal on Money For Nothing sounds like a strangled cat.
