How is your sister doing @Bathsheba
Thank you for asking @Maver-rik. Sheâs not doing well, and we all know sheâs not coming back to us. Still in ICU, where sheâs been since 7th February, although in the meantime she has been transferred from the cardiac ICU in Basildon hospital to the general ICU in Chelmsford. She seems to be going downhill, with multiple organ failure, and theyâve never managed to get the sepsis under control. She has serious muscle wastage, which of course is impacting her heart, a major muscle itself. Sheâs weak and confused, and spends most of her time either sleeping or dozing.
So I donât think this can go on much longer. In fact, I hope it doesnât because itâs so unfair, so pointless to keep on patching her up, and so awful for her two boys, my nephews.
I will update on here if there are any further changes.
Iâm so very sorry, my love to you all xx
So sorry Bathsheba xx
So sorry Bathsheba, I was hoping that she was on the mend when you didnât say more. I lost my sister to cancer a few years ago so I have an idea of what you are going through. I send my best wishes to you and a huge hug.
Iâm so sorry Bathsheba. And I think I understand your feelings.
My mother was suddenly rushed to hospital. By the time I got there she had died. My father got to the point where he had no life at all, no recognisance who I was for his last few years. I think I preferred the former option.
Oh BathâŠwe thought she was doing so well! Sending hugs to you all.
Oh my goodness I thought she was going to be ok. Iâm terribly sorry to read this. My heart goes out to you and the whole family. Devastating for you all.
Please feel the biggest virtual hugs, I really feel your pain. May she have a peaceful passing into heaven. Xxxxxx
I am so sorry the news of your sisterâs health is not more promising.
Hugs to you. xx
Thank you all so much for caring, it really means a lot me. But donât feel sad for me - that time has passed now. In my head Iâve already said goodbye to her. Iâve accepted the inevitable, and I feel surprisingly calm about it. I know that when she takes her last breath, I will be inconsolable, but it wonât be the shock it would have been if her life had suddenly been snuffed out on 2nd February when her heart stopped.
So I probably wonât update this thread again until/unless something major, good or bad, happens.
Iâm so sorry to read this, love and hugs to you and your dear sister xx
OMG. Am so sorry to hear about this. Have lit a little candle of prayer for you all in the lounge. God bless!
So sorry at your sad news, Sheba. x x
so sorry . May your beloved sister be pain free and at peace. Thinking of you all
Big hugs BathshebaâŠso sorry
Bathsheba, I am very sorry to read this update.
When it had all gone quiet, l suppose l thought your sister was making some sort of recovery. Now to read this, it seems it wasnât like that at all.
I must say, your sister has been so brave and a terrific fighter but sometimes you just canât fight anymoreâŠ
Love to you all.

Some flowers to cheer you up Sheba.
Very sad for you Bathsheba I lost my big sister Beth some years ago.
I used to visit her in the Northern General in Sheffield and each time I went she had deteriorated a little more and I feared it might be the last time I would go there. Itâs a hard thing to see for a family.
