You have answered none of my questions Zaphod, just repeated what
you had allready said ?
BSA, Previously a small arms manufacturer and motor cycle
producer based in Birmingham. Now involved in toolmaking and the
sale of machine tools, all of which appear to be of eastern
manufacture, as there are no signs of any trade marks set into the
main castings as was the custom with British machinery, just a few
stickers stuck on??
You will find that common practice now in UK .!
The few remaining british manufacturers have moved their facilities
to Taiwan and India, whilst keeping offices in UK ??
On the RR small reactor power plants, as you say, only plans so far?
And why do you think they are only SMALL reactors ??
Could it be because we can no longer produce the steel in the
quantities required do you think ??
On the satellite technology, very important l think, but we used to
have the technology ourselves to launch them as well, But it seems
that the EU has sneaked that away from us as well as our fish??
Computers l know many are imported here from the far East and it
is not beyond the bounds of possibility that we re export them
elsewhere ? However l will endeavour to establish if any are actually
manufactured here in the meantime ?
Donkeyman!
PS, who is Sage, and what do they make??
Not toilet rolls l hope?
Thanks for the encouragement Swimmy!!
As regards the insults, l am too thick to know they are insults?
I like your definition of expert, and l think it describes someone we
both know perfectly !!
Philippe Olivier hinted there could be a simple solution to this: bilateral agreements between individual countries.
Mr Olivier, who also serves as special advisor to National Rally party leader Marine Le Pen, complained about the Brexit deal not protecting the interests of French fishermen and argued France and Britain should have struck a bilateral agreement instead.
He said: "Germany totally dominates the EU and it really doesn’t care about the problems of fisheries…
The EU is dominated by Germany. That was always the plan.
Then this must be the sixth time I have had to tell you that no, you have not.
Again, you saying you have answered is not the same as you actually providing an adequate answer.
You can wriggle and squirm and obfuscate all you want, it’s fine by me if you want to carry on making yourself look silly.
And you are.
How anybody can reach the age which this forum caters to and remain so naive and ignorant as to not understand the basic rules of life is amazing to behold.
I would like to live in a subsidised house with subsidised bills, subsidised food and subsidised transport and holidays - but life isn’t like that.
Neither is Brexit.
You’re a hypocrite, wanting to see fishermen subsidised ad infinitum yet yourself aiding in the loss of British business and tax receipts by trying to buy abroad to save a few quid!
Do not assume to know what Britons want when voting and polling both suggest you to be wrong.
Instead answer the question: What would you rather: people care about fishing or that as now they care about the things I have shown you - and how would you reconcile the differences and persuade the country that what they want doesn’t matter?

Stop dodging and avoiding and accept reality, then answer the question.
If we don’t make anything you might like to say how come we are set to be the world’s 5th largest manufacturer?
And that is according to a global industry body, not from me.
Do your own homework and find out who SAGE are; you might learn something since you seem determined to ignore what I show you.
I have shown you BSA saying they manufacture in the UK, but you - a faceless forum bod - think that we should believe you instead?
When you state that you make things as BSA do then the law of this country says you must actually do so.
Regardless, if you can press the keys to type on this forum I’m sure you can manage to find out who SAGE are.
I’m not hopeful mind if you refuse to see that RR’s SMR’s are in pre-production or wonder what powers a nuclear sub for example.
Or that the UK already has a couple of launch sites.
Here are a few more sources that might help you to see just how misguided your POV is:
That’s Micron trying to assert French authority as Mutti leaves the door ajar.
Barmier is already a “has-been” but he wants to be king … er, to take over from Micron…
I used your link Zaphod, and that’s all it showed, apart from an
article stating that it is extremely difficult to find what SAGE
actually do??
What must l do now?
Your links are proving to be unreliable and fail to back your claims
up??
I provided reasons for doubting the origins of the the machinery
available in the UK at the present time which if you new anything
about the subject, you would understand. Obviously you know
very little,
You weren’t looking in the right place Donks. The SAGE Zaphod is referring to is the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE). It provides scientific and technical advice to support government decision makers during emergencies.
Nigel Farage has cut the fee to stand as a candidate for his new Reform Party from £30 to £10 ahead of May’s local elections.
Daily Mail deputy political editor, John Stevens, tweeted that the party had “slashed” the application payment in a move that suggests the rebranded Brexit Party is “struggling” to attract viable candidates to stand for Farage’s newest political vehicle.
“Love him or loathe him, Farage has proved himself a political force to be reckoned with,” says BBC political correspondent Alex Forsyth. But news that Reform is having to hunt for candidates has raised questions over whether it is a “future force or busted flush”.
If there is no suitable Reform party or Independent candidate then NONE is my choice.
If we’re talking about May this year, then I completely agree.
I would normally have voted Conservative but for two things, either:
Boris has intentionally sold us out; or
he is under pressure from fellow Conservative MPs.
Reform UK or Independent candidates receiving votes where voters would normally have voted Conservative, even if they don’t win the vote, would at least send a clear message.
As for 2024, I have always said that I’d wait to see if Boris undid BRINO and achieved BREXIT. On that would depend my decision of who to vote for.
