Misled Over Brexit ? Certainly Looks That way!

Just what we need, an excuse to trigger the get out of jail free
card in the Christmas CTA !!

Donkeyman!

They are extending the negotiations even further now. This is what they did with Canada and just about every other trade deal they have. It’s ratified on one side but not on the EU side so it drags on for decades where the EU get to change the rules but the other side can’t or they get accused by the EU clowns of breaking international law.

Sound familiar ?

There is no need to trigger anything if the deal isn’t ratified.

IMHO, if the deal isn’t ratified the EU hasn’t got a legal leg to stand on and Boris and Co can do virtually anything they like with the “border in the Irish Sea”.

Thank you Percy for a much-needed injection of commonsense into this part of the forum.
:023:
I believe that you’re correct, and we know by now that the EU really are daft enough to do it too.
Although sadly it seems that certain others would rather fixate upon other areas rather than try to understand the bigger picture.

Yes indeed. I think they’ve shot themselves in the foot (again) here. The only thing we need to do is to ensure that Boris doesn’t offer them yet another extension in which to make up their minds.

If he continues to dawdle, at least he can’t keep it up all the way until 2024…
can he?

Best just to ignore them and let things take their natural course - to a true Brexit!

You’re welcome Zaphod.

At this rate the EU are going to implode anyway.

The latest is that they’ve stopped 250,000 AstraZeneca vaccines from being exported to Australia - and this when they can’t use the huge stock they have got of this vaccine in the EU itself because of their own mistakes!
Let’s see how they try to explain this.

(And widely-reported across UK media … except of course it’s not on the BBC or Sky yet.)

Because of the post above I thought that you might like to see this:

“Only 273,000 doses of the jab developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University have been administered in France out of 1.7 million received as of end-February, according to health ministry figures.”

“By February 23, 1.45 million doses had been delivered to Germany, but only 240,000 had been used.”

To be fair though, the French are very adverse to vaccines. Around 40% won’t take it anyway so its always going to be an uphill battle.

Macron didn’t help and neither did Merkel - they both panned the AZ vaccine out of spite and now the French and Germans don’t know what to believe or who to believe, especially with Merkel openly admitting she won’t have the vaccine either.

Its all a bit of a mess. My French friends are all having the vaccine, thank God but to them, Macrons performance so far is “having a 747 full of passengers crashing every day” in terms of the numbers dying of covid thanks to his and the EU’s incompetence.

If this is an example of their competence, why are we worrying about the EU?
Even if we do nothing, their whole little empire is likely to come crashing down in no time at all!

It’s increasingly looking at least possible.

Germany is still upsetting the applecart by refusing to open their borders for example, and that’s not going down well … neither is the buying of Russian & Chinese vaccines from an increasing number of frustrated member countries helping matters.

EU solidarity.
Right.

It already is … zombie businesses will all implode as soon as interest rates rise. Then the whole thing will fold like a house of cards.

QE has become perpetual and its the only thing creating demand for those zombie businesses.

What new business or expanding business will want to set up shop in a place where they ban exports at the drop of a hat without good reason?

Not pharmaceutical ones that’s for sure.

Merkel did not pan the AZ vaccine “out of spite” but she stated that, as head of state, she of all people will have to wait until it’s the turn of her age group to get the jab. She does not belong to the first two groups that take priority but belongs to the third group. Her political opponents both in parliament and among the population would be rubbing their hands if she jumped the queue and put her foot in it. One politician, the mayor of Halle in Saxony-Anhalt, made that mistake and is now brought before court.
The main reason why more than a million doses have not been inoculated yet is that there were not enough data suggesting that the vaccine is also effective for those over 65. Germany did what is the mantra of those outside the EU namely to take its own decision rather than follow the guidelines issued by EMA.
Meanwhile, however, because new data is available for that age group the vaccine will also be used for the over 65 year-olds. Minor reasons why the AZ vaccine has a slightly poorer image over here are the side effects which are often stronger than those of the mRNA jabs as well as the slightly lower effectiveness documented.

The over 65s were part of the trial. It was all made up

That. was very commendable of her Dachs, as opposed to the leaders
In Africa and other places who get the first jab in public to
demonstrate their public spirit ??
It makes a pleasant change !

Donkeyman!

Not good

I thought we were no longer subject to the ECJ.
If this proves to be the case, it just goes to confirm my repeated assertion that Boris achieved us nothing more than BRINO.
