Metropolitan Police to investigate No 10 lockdown parties - More Fines Issued

You are delusional swimmy. Her state funeral is already well planned and privately rehearsed to ultimate perfection. It’s the same for every state occasion and has been so for as long as I can remember. If BJ is PM at the time, then he will take up his allotted position at all times, just as previous PM’s have done when a monarch dies. Look up Operation London Bridge for yourself and read the order of events.

Edited to add …also check out Operation Spring Tide that covers Chas becoming King.

No further Partygate updates from Met until after May elections

The force says the investigation will still continue during this time - so fines could in theory be issued.

But due to restrictions over communications in the run-up to an election, it will not issue updates.

No 10 officials receive fines for BYOB party Boris Johnson attended, sources tell ITV News

Some government officials have been fined by police in relation to a ‘bring your own booze’ event in the Number 10 garden which Boris Johnson attended, ITV News has been told.

Two sources told Deputy Political Editor Anushka Asthana that fine emails relating to the May 20, 2020 garden party have begun landing in staff inboxes, however it is unclear whether the prime minister is one to receive a Fixed Penalty Notice.

It would be the PM’s second partygate fine, after he was fined for breaking lockdown rules in June 2020, when attending his own birthday celebration.

Downing Street has said he has not received a fine yet.

The public is unlikely to find out whether Mr Johnson has been fined until after the local elections on May 5, as the Metropolitan Police said it would not release any further updates during the pre-election period.

If he received another fine it will be double his first, which was £100 reduced to £50 because he paid it within 14 days.

Previous rules said repeat offenders would have their fines double with each subsequent offence, up to a maximum of £6,400.

If anyone’s a notorious “repeat offender” it’s BJ …

Yet … :069:

It’s about time they had a really damned good look into Capt Hindsight and his pizza and drinks “do” oop north.

Feel free to start an appropriate thread when “they” do … :expressionless:

The Met is investigating whether a party took place in No 11 on that night to mark the departure of Johnson’s former advisers Dominic Cummings and Lee Cain.

They are looking into claims that the party was organised by Carrie with Abba songs played.

Mr Johnson previously told MPs he was working and now a government source said he also claimed he was interviewing Newman, who was then an advisor to Michael Gove, in another part of the flat.

According to the Times, Mr Johnson said he invited Newman to the flat to distance themselves from leaving drinks that were being held for Lee Cain.

The Prime Minister is said to have given a toast and short speech at the leaving drinks, which are also being investigated.

Newman is a close friend of Mr Johnson’s wife Carrie, who has previously referred to him as one of her ‘favourite people’ and her political ‘bestie’. He is believed to be a regular visitor to No 11.

While you’re there, cut your hair and stick it down your underwear”

Police last night opened the door to a full probe into claims that Keir Starmer broke lockdown rules when he was filmed drinking with party officials.

Durham Constabulary said it would consider a request from Tory MP Richard Holden to review a controversial decision that cleared the Labour leader.

Senior Conservatives insisted the force should now launch a full investigation into Sir Keir’s conduct, saying there appeared to be no difference between the event that he attended and the ‘birthday party’ in No 10 for which Boris Johnson was fined £50.

Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries said that Sir Keir was a ‘hypocrite’ who should be ‘subjected to the same standard’ as the PM.

Critics say Sir Keir cannot have it both ways – insisting he is exempt because he was at a work meeting while simultaneously criticising the PM for using the same excuse.

People living in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

But BJ is an habitual liar.

Because hi-jacking threads to serve a personal agenda is, at the very least, bad manners.

Officials under police investigation over lockdown breaches in Downing Street have expressed frustration after it emerged that Boris Johnson has not yet received a questionnaire for at least one key leaving do.

Amid growing anger at what one official branded a “scattergun approach” by Scotland Yard – including different people being sent questionnaires two months apart for the same event – the Metropolitan police are expected to make an announcement soon after the local elections, with expectations of further Partygate fines.

The prime minister said on Tuesday he had not been contacted by the Met about a leaving party for his former spin doctor Lee Cain in November 2020. Sources said Met questionnaires, which can be a precursor to a fixed-penalty notice (FPN), had been sent to other people who attended.

Johnson gave a speech and poured drinks at the leaving event for Cain on 13 November, according to those present, despite it being during a stay-at-home Covid lockdown.

Police are also investigating an alleged party on the same night, held at the flat the prime minister shares with his wife, Carrie Johnson. Sources claim the event was to celebrate the departure of Cain and Johnson’s former chief adviser Dominic Cummings.

The prime minister has so far received one FPN, for attending a birthday gathering at No 10 in June 2020 for what he said was a matter of minutes, demonstrating that police deemed this crossed the threshold for breaking the law.

Is BJ receiving “preferential” treatment …

Of course he is he’s the PM
What a complete waste of public money and police time .

A senior Boris Johnson aide who was seen draped in tinsel at the Partygate Christmas quiz has left his Number 10 job, the Sunday Mirror has learned.

And police have started to hand out fines to No10 staff over a separate Christmas party held the same week.

Stuart Glassborow was the Prime Minister’s deputy Principal Private Secretary - among the highest ranking civil servants in Number 10 - and was named among those expected to be ousted as Mr Johnson battled to save his skin. He left the top job on Friday, inviting colleagues to join him for “tea and cake” to mark his departure.

The Mirror published a photograph of two members of staff - one of whom was Mr Glassborow - alongside Mr Johnson and a bottle of bubbly during the quiz. A number of staff took part in the quiz in person, despite claims it was an ‘online’ event. Boris Johnson hosted a round of the Christmas Quiz alongside aides inside Number 10. After the picture was revealed, Scotland Yard said they would consider investigating the quiz, held on December 15 2020 while indoor mixing was banned.

Meanwhile it’s understood Police have begun issuing fixed penalty notices to people who attended the No10 Christmas party, which took place three days later on December 18. The raucous Christmas party, first revealed by the Mirror, was said to have been attended by 40 of the Prime Minister’s top team. Downing Street dodged questions for a week before bombshell video emerged of staff joking about it.

Officials knocked back glasses of wine and held a Secret Santa while the rest of the country was forced to stay at home.

Presumably all recipients will remain anonymous unless one is BJ … :wine_glass:

Do you spend your days trawling through left-wing comics like the Mirror and the Grauniad just so that you can find fault with the Tories, and Boris Johnson in particular?

Yes … :+1:

Thought as much. You ought to run to be a Labour councillor or a Labour MP as minister for propaganda.

ICBA … :man_shrugging:

ICBA? What’s that supposed to mean?

I can’t be …….

Hi

I am not a fan of Boris.

I do not pretend otherwise, I do not even call him Boris, which is his stage name.

I do not allow him however to dictate my life or my posts.

I do not spend my life searching out negative information about him and posting it non stop.

There are other more important things in life than him.
