Metric or Imperial

That’s good! We get almost everything delivered to our door.

Metric is for children who never had a proper education.

That would be me then because we were taught metric at school. I found it confusing growing up with two sets of measures. Also growing up just after the currency denominations changed. So my parents would keep calling 5ps shillings. Metric is useful for measuring things in cm and mm, but use miles & pints rather than KM and Ml. Useful for scientists but not the average person in the street.

Yes. Read back and you’ll see that I’ve said exactly the same thing.
mm and cm for small measures of length; Imperial for everything else.

Incidentally, until a few months ago I always weighed 12st 7lb. Now I’m 12st 2 or 3lb. I don’t know why. Perhaps age?

Yes dear.

But my point is I don’t do metric or imperial, it’s just big or not so big plastic bottle without knowing what or how they are measured.

But I’m not stupid, I’ll notice if/when they get smaller like Waggon Wheels did.

Jaffa cakes. Jaffa cakes can be eaten in one bite now. Never the case years ago.

Waggon Wheels were bigger than me back in '59

I remember when I had to hold one in both hands when I was younger. I was in my teens before I could actually finish one entirely. I wouldn’t know one if I saw one now… :eyes:

I wonder how many of you use A4 paper?

It used to be Imperial foolscap paper when I was at school.
Now it is metric and we all use it.
" A4 paper* is an A series, metric size of paper

210 x 297 mm

Perhaps it’s your mouth that’s got bigger?

A4 and Fullscape are two different things. Fullscape was always a bit longer I think. Haven’t seen it used for years now.
See here:

Letter at 279mm (11.0") is slightly smaller than A4 at 297mm (11.7"), both Legal at 356mm (14.0") and Foolscap at 330mm (13.0") are longer than A4 with Legal being the longest. Foolscap is the narrowest at 203mm (8.0"), followed by A4 at 210mm (8.3") and then Letter and Legal at 216mm (8.5").

32" waists are much smaller these days.
