Metric or Imperial

I much prefer feet & inches & pints rather than litres, but I am old.

Well I Guess I am too Tiffany,

Man goes in greengrocer’s and asks for a pound of potatoes.
We only do kilos, says greengrocer.
I’ll have a pound of kilos then, says man.

I don’t normally tell jokes; it will probably never happen again.

I completely agree.

(Except that I’m 5’10" tall, weigh 12st 4lb and wear size 9 shoes.)

I must have missed it.I expect it was very good.

Has there ever been a categoric metric alternative to six inches? :icon_wink:

Well, I’m old too at age 75. I use metric or SI (almost) for everything. But if I want a pint in the pub that’s no problem. I’m ambidextrous or something like that…

I don’t. The OP has been deleted, so there is no thread any more. So we’re all waffling about nothing. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

metric is for nerds

Question : can an off topic thread go off topic?

Hi

Yes I am home.

I had to go back for a CT Scan with dye and whilst there they noticed the bruise.

No sense of humour and I was there for longer than I wanted.

I fell over on the corner of a raised bed in my garden, the bruise is the same shape as the corner post, which I broke.

I do try to keep out of my local hospital, they are still in special measures.

Having a fall whilst on anticoagulants is a bit of a nuisance, apart from the pain, there is a tendency for internal bleeding.

I have some very unflattering photos of me with a central line in .

A more generalised link.

Hi

Returning to the OP, metric is a man’s friend .

15 cm sounds far more impressive than 6 inches.

I buy my milk in a big plastic bottle with a green top.

Litres? Pints? Pah

I used to enjoy my beer in those pint pots, the hefty glass dimpled things with the handle. I’m probably on a bit of a nostalgia trip…and they came in half pints too.
Happy days!

I buy milk in the smaller two pint bottles with a green tops, usually 2 or 3 at a time, the big plastic bottles are too big for my fridge.

That’s impressive?!!

I get mine delivered to my door.
Amazing service and long may it continue

Then I must be a nerd.
