A mans gotta do what a mans gotta do Muddy…
Ah… That takes me back. Vicky Carr - famous for blubbing during her songs.
Just of the times! pre-rock and roll? - Johnny Ray perhaps? now there WAS a wailer!!
they didn’t drag them out so long either!!
Oh gawd! I hated that song and Her…I wanted to give Her a good kick up the arse and tell Her to get over Herself
Back to the sewious stuff.
Used to make my grand daughter cry every time she heard it. She was around 12 at the time.
they all clarify imo - it’s whatever rocks ya boat. I used to listen to a lot of Enya who sang like that - but of course the song and words and sentiments imo again have to match an incidence in your life - a relationship etc - I do think it would however be hard to expect folk to relate their personal stories that connect to their choice of song.
this is the one that always does it for me and I am sure it’s been cited before?
my all time favorite of pain that is is Bridge over Troubled waters and I still don’t think anyone ever surpassed the two lads, but this version is good by Eve Cassidy - the sad lamented. But for me that was a love lost and never regained - although I am after many years still in touch by the ether!!
however I am reminded that I started this movable thread with a song by a new aussie female singer Washington that sorta grabbed the same emotions with different words. So it was not just pickin nice sounds but matching personal experiences too!
yea I get that one for sure - must get a copy of the changed lyrics cos Elton bless his heart mumbles a bit!!
