That’s easy for you to say.
Less is more.
This can be correct but only if the less is as a result of decent intelligence
Less folks in Brum, fewer folks in Sutton Coldfield.
solipsism
The belief that the person holding the belief is the only real thing in the universe. All other persons and things are merely ornaments or impediments to his happiness.
Rene Descartes proved his existance by saying " I think, therefore I am."
(cogito- ergo, sum) The solipsist prefers " cogito ergo omnia sum"
-I think therefore, I am everything!

Yebbut,last time I was dead,I recall thinking “Right,THIS time,I’m coming back as God-THAT’LL learn’em!”
…but I was drug back afore I was ready,so 1st thing I had to do was learn to walk again-well,that and not poo in my strides-oh and tie my laces…but, other than those thr…well, plus learning to communicate both orally and via calligraphics, both of which are of great assistance when attempting to communicate one’s innermost depths of thought to the lesser gifted…yes,…er…what was I saying? Who’s feet are these?-they’re in my socks, damnit! …oh,dear…y’know, the mental convolutions required to consider imponderables, delineates a total deficiency of cerebral armament.
. . . . and I’ve wet myself.
. . . . again . . . .
Hi Gumbud,
How come you are out in the bush? I can see in my mind a picture of you on a shaky wooden veranda, feet up, with bush hat complete with corks, shooting casually at passing wildlife.
Snakes. Possums. Wombats et al.
that’s it you’ve depicted it admirally. ! I too lived in Perth for 30 odd years - it is now a faceless, concrete jungle like all cities. I do visit it occasionally but only if pressed!
my bush is 8.5 acres with an option to increase to 10 and we have our mob of wallabies [the smaller kanga] who the dogs chase endlessly but never catch - they are much faster than a dog. Have seen the odd python or two - very odd, blue tongued lizards of course who are said to keep snakes to a minimum - I think they do the hiring and firing! flocks of parrots of course often white but sometimes multi- colored and various other tweeting things.
no shot gun unfortunately [I have too many grandchildren] not even a chainsaw!
my uncle riciardo was a real aussie bushman - left school at the age of 13. In those days they just didn’t turn up one day and never went back. As soon as he could he was on the back of a horse and out on the Kimberley ranges herdin cattle. Night time camp fires and someone on watch in case the cattle were spooked by wild dogs. Strictly no drinking when roving but when they got back into town my my they had a thirst for the grog!
Iff’n y’don’t mind my asking,Gummy-why such a small acreage? I ask only because I have a friend who lives just south of Berry Springs-which itself is just south of Palmerston-and his place, although not agricultural as such,is 40 acres, which is how much he decided he could manage. It has hardly any population there,so the local govt are [well, seem] happy to allot acreage according to what the land will be used for. Rob’s place is just a wildlife habitat. Geckos and Lorikeets seem to be the main residents. He loves it. The last time I went to see him we all went to Darwin-and I have to say,I couldn’t believe how little traffic there was. A truly beautiful city and everyone was so polite.
I can’t see the attraction of Bondi and Sydney, with all the hustle,crowds,etc-or even Bondi-when Darwin is such a nice place. I mean, anywhere incorporating a ‘Fannie bay’ HAS to be good!
4th House on the right?
hey mister anythung under a million acres outa these ways iz considered a hobby station - just toys for the boys.
NB: one of our mining magnets recently purchased a station that crossed three different states out here - just scrub and cattle - you’d get lost in your earth mover out there Pug and we’d probably have to send out the RFD to rescue you! - this is a big country were men think big and the sheilas keep bringin out the grub!!
yup wez all pretty decent and intelligent on here but just a small less of the bigger crowd!
Yurr-annwe urr purtey gudat that sppellin thing two!
Good morning peeps.
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way - in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.”
Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities
Yebbut, with respect to C Dickens Esq,it’s ever been that way between Birmingham and Swansea,RJ. They just can not agree on anything. [personally,I blame they Frenchies-they’re revolting!]
Give me back my broken night
my mirrored room, my secret life
it’s lonely here,
there’s no one left to torture
Give me absolute control
over every living soul
And lie beside me, baby,
that’s an order!
Give me crack and anal sex
Take the only tree that’s left
and stuff it up the hole
in your culture
Give me back the Berlin wall
give me Stalin and St Paul
I’ve seen the future, brother:
it is murder.
Leonard Cohen - The Future??
“These Are The Days Of Our Lives”
Sometimes I get to feelin’
I was back in the old days - long ago
When we were kids, when we were young
Things seemed so perfect - you know?
The days were endless, we were crazy - we were young
The sun was always shinin’ - we just lived for fun
Sometimes it seems like lately - I just don’t know
The rest of my life’s been - just a show.
Those were the days of our lives
The bad things in life were so few
Queen
Remember when you ran away
and I got on my knees
and begged you not to leave
because I’d go beserk?
Well,you left me anyhow
and then the days got worse and worse
and now you see I’ve gone
completely out of my mind!
And;they’re coming to take me away,ha-haaa,
They’re coming to take me away, hoho, heehee, hahaaa.
To the funny farm,
where life is beautiful all the time
and I’ll be happy to see those nice young men
in their clean white coats
and they’re coming to take me away, hahaaa!
You thought it was a joke
and so you laughed,
you laughed when I said
that losing you would make me flip my lid.
Right?
You know you laughed,
I heard you laugh.
You laughed.
You laughed and laughed and then you left,
but now you know I’m utterly mad
and they’re coming to take me away, hahaaa!
They’re coming to take me away, hoho, heehee, haha,
to the happy home, with trees and flowers and chirping birds
and basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes.
And they’re coming to take me away, hahaaa
I cooked your food,
I cleaned your house,
and this is how you pay me back
for all my kind,unselfish,loving deeds?
Ha!
Well you just wait, they’ll find you yet and when they do
They’ll put you in the A.S.P.C.A.
You mangy mutt!
And;they’re coming to take me away, hahaaa,
they’re coming to take me away,haha,hoho,heehee;
To the funny farm, where life is beautiful all the time
and I’ll be happy to see those nice young men
in their clean white coats
And they’re coming to take me away!
To the happy home, with trees and flowers and chirping birds
and basket-weavers,who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes.
And they’re coming to take me away, hahaaaaaaa!!!
THanks PUGGY, that song takes me back to the day.
Yer welcome,mate.
I remember being in my cab on the dockside in Reggio Calabria, waiting to take the truck onto the ferry and for some reason that song’d come into my head and just wouldn’t go away. I was brewing up a mug of tea, standing in my cab, singing loudly…and when I bent to flick the teabag out, there were a half-dozen dockers standing stock still, looking at me in utter amazement. [cue mighty cringe]
Some men never listen
And other never learn
But why this man did as he did
Only he will ever know
He knew he was walking
Into a waiting trap
Neatly set up for him
With a bait so richly wrapped
So he went inside there
To take on what he found
But he never escaped them
For who can escape what he desires
